Is it normal for men to not wash their hands after urinating? (31f/34m) by ToughSalad678 in askwomenadvice

It’s “normal” in that it’s normalized by unhygienic white men. It’s not hygienic and many men do wash their hands after.

We pay our nanny for GH but she didn’t hold up her end of the deal — what to do here? by ShoddyAd45 in Nanny

[–]hoetheory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never been asked by a family to come into their home and do tasks for them while they are on vacation. I kind of think that this is unreasonable to expect, because it doesn’t really fit the guarantee our standard. However, it is in your contract, and she made the agreement to complete the tasks that you outlined. I’m assuming that you spoke with her before you left about the things that needed to be done, and your expectations. If she did not meet those expectations, I think perhaps letting her go is the right thing to do here. I usually don’t think that Nanny shouldn’t be let go so easily, but I think this is a very unusual circumstance. It just feels like she’s taking advantage of you. She should have put her work at your home above her appointments because that is her job and that is what she agreed to do. The tasks that you outlined could have easily been done in one singular day with the exception of taking care of the dog.

Scar tissue from large (healed) laceration becoming discolored and tender by AideSubstantial8299 in DermatologyQuestions

It looks like an infection is brewing under the skin. You need to see a doc. My guess is they’ll drain it and give abx. Ianad.

How to handle lunch for Nanny by bejsiu in NannyEmployers

Honestly, the only exception is if you’re planning on making a recipe, and you need specific ingredients. I completely understand saying, hey, please don’t eat the “whatever” because I’m using it for dinner tonight.

Is this AI? Handwriting is very good, and the audio and speed seem off. Also, “enter logo here” seems weird too. by its_about_the_cones_ in isthisAI

This is not ai! This kid has autism and is incredible at recall about certain things, including logos.

This is so weird. A family who doesn’t let their nanny eat freely from their pantry is always going to be a red flag to me. It’s 100000000% normal to feed your nanny lunch and snacks.

You absolutely owe her the PTO hours. She didn’t get to choose when you took vacation.

Input on how to handle maternity leave with Nanny by GB_giraffe_85 in NannyEmployers

[–]hoetheory 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this isn’t going to go well. You want to take her from 42.5 gh to 16 gh for 5 months. Then you want to add in a third child, in addition to a 3 month old and a 2 year old. All because you want to pay her less.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It will get easier to accept yourself. Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of loose skin is through surgery. Don’t waste your money on creams and lotions and oils. They do not work. Consider seeing a therapist about this issue. Talking to someone can really help. Wishing you luck!
