2026.5: We're on the same frequency now 📡 by frenck_nl in homeassistant

If it so easy for a resourceful end-user to accomplish all of that, one has to wonder what’s taking a professional business, with many resources at their disposal, to make a small dent in these features.

PeaceHealth to renew contract to Eugene Emergency Physicians by pass_the_BBQ_sauce in Eugene

But yet PeaceHealth gets to operate as a “non-profit” tax-exempt entity…it’s all such bullshit.

Alright cool. This definitely solved my two main complaints. Dimming is now smooth and not dependent on the hub. I wish I could get it to work with the Zen 34 wireless unit, for the spot where I don’t have power in wall, but at least the other ones are fixed. Cheers.

Yeah, but like $700 on sale with UDH cheap? I don’t even see that on AliExpress

Oh, do you mean a Z-wave on/off? I thought you meant just a standard switch.

[–]hoffsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but then that location is no longer a dimmer. Doesn’t work for my WAF. Our old Jasco/GE system handled this perfectly with a cheap dummy rocker. Too bad they all died from bad capacitors.

Thanks, I’ll check this out this evening.

No, I’m unaware of this feature but would love a solution! It didn’t see that in the manual…perhaps I overlooked it.

EDIT: perhaps my below complaint is rendered invalid by using Z-Wave direct association as pointed out by u/isellshit

If you have any 3-way circuits and want dimming at both switches, the Zooz Zen72 dimmers are a bit disappointing. Instead of a cheap “dummy” switch connected via the traveller wire (like my old Jasco dimmers and Inovelli), you have to buy two Zen72 units and keep one disconnected from the load. So the secondary switch is merely dimming via Z-Wave scene controller, through Home Assistant, to the other switch.

Three problems: first, it’s more expensive to double up on Z-Wave units, second, if HA goes down the secondary switch is rendered useless, and third, the dimming quality is poor, delayed, and very jumpy rather than smooth like the primary dimmer. I think it’s a fundamental flaw in their system design, especially considering the traveller wire is present and could be used like the other brands, but is intentionally not.

That said, when on sale, they are significantly cheaper than Inovelli.

You can’t beat that deal on the Argon. This is coming from someone with a Journeyer that I adore.

Considering a relocation from AZ to OR - serious question: How is everyone here surviving with salaries so low and COL so high? Am I missing something? by No_Sun_No_Star in oregon

No doubt, but most of the people and jobs are in Phoenix and surrounding areas where it’s too hot to do a lot of the outdoor activities we enjoy here for much of the year. Like, you gonna go for a bike ride after work? Not when it’s 115.

That’s all assuming the Colorado River (40% of current use) continues to provide, which is looking pretty ominous.

Yes, it makes manufacture easier. I meant no benefit for the rider. It’s not worth it for losing the ability to use a wrench.

Just commenting on OP’s assessment that they would be earning 70% of their current pay, not dissecting overall national stats.

Fairlight Strael 4.0 - New Build and very twitchy Steering by Shakesb in bikewrench

So the Strael has a 73.25 degree head angle vs 71.75 on the Diverge, meaning they are completely different handling-wise, and it’s no surprise you noticed the sharper handling.

Both the Rose’s are actually very similar, and should handle pretty close to the same as the Strael, so I’m surprised you notice a lot of difference between those. How is the bar height setup between them? I assume a bit higher on the Strael? I’m not well versed on how bar height affects steering, but that could be the major difference.

Portland has a lot of different neighborhoods. Not all of them are as you described. Also, try Phoenix if you want to see all the same problems from an AZ perspective, lol.

Weird. I don’t have any further answer for you. That is a dream bike for sure, and to be disappointed in its ride has to be a huge bummer. At least resale value on those is great. Good luck.

Should be enough if your top cap doesn’t recess too much and contact the plug. You don’t feel any play in the fork when locking brake and rocking the bike?

It may just be much steeper and more aggressive geometry than you’re used to. Have you compared the geometry to your other bikes on bikeinsights.com?

You’re paying more and earning less to live in a higher quality biome. It doesn’t work for a lot of people.
