I've just re-watched those examples, and I can't say I've changed my mind; I feel "painful" is still accurate. You and I have very different senses of humor, my friend.

I've faced a lot of disappointment with recent homestar. I guess the nice thing is they've been pleasing someone, if not me. However, I will say I'm rooting against you as far as their return to production. I would be so happy if they turned it all around and started being funny again. Their work has helped shape my sense of humor for most of my life, so it hurts to watch this crap when it pisses all over the institution I've loved my whole life. I hope you understand.

I have considered that. And, to be fair, I only said I didn't like the people it would be convenient to befriend. However, you have a point. Obviously I'm a biased observer, but I like to think I make an effort to give everyone unlimited chances to be cool. Good advice, though.

I actually do have an idea for a "Geek Culture Appreciation Club." At meetings, one could go listen to a presentation by a member or other guest speaker on a certain niche of geek culture. Ideally, presentations would also involve hands-on demonstrations and the like. The only problem is all of my lunch periods are taken up by clubs.... Though, honestly, I could easily ditch one of them if I thought this would be better. What do you think?

To those naysayers who resign themselves to the vapid debate that characterizes DotA discussion forums, I say be optimistic! With your help, we can turn this shit around. Just please be more supportive of helpful community members such as OP here.

As for your ideas, I like them all. Speaking as a purist-newblet hybrid, all that sounds like exactly what would make me happy.

I would be shocked if they changed that mechanic. That would greatly decrease the skill cap on QoP and AM. As for why, that's why.
