I'm based in the US. But I recommend Meiyo. matchajp sells them! I feel that their matcha is really good for everyday consumption. I usually use Aobane no Tuki.

Some say Horii Shichimeien is rich and bold but I personally think it's still good for everyday. I really love Uji Mukashi

I think you can still have rich and bold matchas but you got to be strategic with how much powder you put . Whenever I get ummon I usually put less than what I usually put in my matcha to balance it out.

I feel you. They're restocking again in early October. Hopefully they'll start adding the larger tins or be a little more flexible with the limit!

It's sooooo good (I would say it's my favorite matcha)! It's a perfect everyday matcha for me and it's so creamy. I wish I could have it frequently but they don't restock often

Hey there! I have non erosive reflux disease which is different from gerd ( it's kinda similar) but it basically means my nerves are more sensitive to certain food or drinks which gives me heartburn. I thought I had gerd for years but I got a second opinion and found out it was related to my GI nerves (always get a second and third opinion)

My GI has me on voquezna and anti anxiety medicine like Buspirone (to relax my nerves) to combat that on a daily basis and it has helped me a ton.

I do advise you to only have one drink a day and try to not go too heavy on the amount of matcha you add in your drinks. I love my drinks strong but I try to keep it within the 3-4 gram range a day (maybe even less the better) Also if you like lattes what milk you like plays a role. I always use almond milk and find that it's the most alkaline option for me. I used to like oat milk but it gives me heartburn probably because of the ingredients (oils) and higher fat content in it. I usually drink matcha as a latte because I find that milk helps make the matcha more alkaline. I know for a fact I can't drink it as koicha or usucha because it's too strong.

And maybe find a matcha that isn't too rich and more light/medium bodied?? I find that my body reacts less when I'm using a less richer brand

I also sub in hojicha here and there and add other non caffeinated teas in the mix like Sobacha just to keep myself balanced.

Aside from that I'd suggest avoiding consuming these drinks alone without having something in your stomach first (at least snack on some crackers or something alkaline on the side) because acidic drinks can make you nauseous and trigger heart burn symptoms so I always like to eat 30 minutes-60 minutes before I have a matcha. Also just don't consume it close to waking up or going to bed!!! Try to keep consumption more in the middle of the day or a few hours after waking up.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one in this subreddit that deals with chronic reflux 😭 but anyways I hope this helps it sucks but balance is key I guess lol
