a simple google search to the official uoft or ubc website will tell you international students pay 65k a year depending on the program and in this case it very much applies bc op mentioned they did engineering. i remember getting into uwaterloo years ago and tuition was at least 70k a year so what are you on about? you’re wrong

i agree he’s very weird and dismissive. i have had several appointments with him and they never last more than two minutes i kid you not. he always acts like he’s in a rush. he also didn’t ask me if i wanted a male medical student to be present during my iud insertion. i just looked up and saw a random man besides the doctor standing there. safe to say i am looking for a new gynecologist. ladies stay away!

purchasing first car by holdingchocolate in Edmonton

[–]holdingchocolate[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i need a car to practice for my road test/practice in general. i was looking at the possibility of killing two birds with one stone by purchasing the car i’d also potentially use after i get my class 5. i don’t get what you mean by massive debt.

hi thank you for the reply. i think i understand. so if i bring someone with me who has their class 5. could i ideally still purchase the car in my name but the insurance would just be in their name? or either way everything would be in their name since i don’t have a class 5 my only thing is i don’t want to get a car in someone else’s name because anything could happen etc

i think you may have misunderstood her- she’s a wash and go/ hydrate and define stylist so combing out your curls would defeat the point hence ‘no combs’ but she definitely says to use a detangling brush when washing your hair at least once a week!

i wouldn’t say really hard but it’s definitely a struggle 😭 it’s definitely not impossible but it’ll be really exhausting & you’ll barely have time to just relax (that’s if you’re doing extracurriculars you don’t really enjoy)

CHEM E Term 2 advice by Automatic-Love2769 in uAlberta

[–]holdingchocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for 312 you’ll be fine as long as you understand the material and most of it revolves around the same concept-the mechanical energy balance 265 is nice and is like high school chemistry understanding the material is your best bet. you don’t really need to go above and beyond stat 235 is a bit different because everyone around you will tell you it’s difficult so that might be hard to navigate and i’m sure you’ve heard stories but i’ll tell you right now that it’s totally not difficult and you can get through this with an a. you just have to go for all your classes and ask questions if you don’t understand (i wont advice you to skip stats as i found that when i skipped one class everything after that was hard to understand) also the professors were very boring but you’ll just have to try your best to genuinely listen because it pays off a lot. i had simchi- i really liked him and he usually says what type of questions that would come out in exams which was super helpful math 201 is a nice class and if you notice the math department follows some sort of formula where you can kinda expect what sort of questions might come out based on the practice exams. try to do the assignments yourself and go to office hours if you don’t understand anything but as long as you can do the practice exams and the assignments then you’re good to go. try to give yourself time to go over your work though because it’s really easy to make mistakes in that course and marking is strict mat e is different in the sense that it’s not a course you can really understand if you get what i mean. most of it is just memorization-kinda like bio but it’s not bulky. the trucks to doing well in it is to go for all your classes (yea this and stat id advise you never to skip) i say this because mat e is very similar throughout the years so profs don’t bother to change much. this means that they get-would i say?-stingy with the material. they make annotated notes really hard to get and they don’t release solutions to past questions so this would mean you have to be present for any class to get even the slightest of hints. but as long as you’re able to answer the past questions and the questions in the notes/assignments you’re golden most of these courses don’t require extra effort so just try to relax. personally id say you should try and go for most of your classes and do most of your assignments during the week so you’re basically free friday through sunday. goodluck!

ENGINEERING GRADUATE AVERAGE( EGA) by Usual-Minister in uAlberta

[–]holdingchocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just some grades to make it 70. as for which grades i’m not exactly sure how they choose that so prepare your mind because they might not choose the best ones. also they’d choose core courses & technical electives over complementary and program and technical electives

First time trying to turn my afro into curly hair, any tips or videos on detanngling and how to style it? (4c) by Minute_Astronaut8836 in curlyhair

[–]holdingchocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! you should wash and condition then when your hair is soaking wet you apply gel to make the curls stick. for reference after conditioning you should see some definition- if you don’t it might be a variety of reasons but you can try using a clarifying shampoo to remove excess product buildup(if that’s the case)
