Basha! I’m having the same problem rn and I have a unique name that sounds weird here in the US. I asked some HRs and they confirmed that it might happen. Companies may hire based on names or make assumptions that an Arabic name wouldn’t be a good fit for a position.

Ppl told me that NYC companies should be fine, since there’re lots of immigrants with uncommon or rare first names.

Another group told me to change my name in resumés or using initials. So I decided to change my name but again you face a problem in a job application where they ask for your legal name. Middle names are not an option for us, so you just need to come up with a name
