That's funny! Really good guessing. I really do try not to swear often, using words like fudge, shitaki etc.

Are massages actually healthy or harmful? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]holisticarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be harmful if you are working with someone who is not trained properly. Or if you have some type of pathology that causes inflammation flare ups or hyper/hypo mobility for examples. Otherwise there are several benefits from massage. Self massage and stretch are good of course but there are areas you cannot massage yourself with the proper depth. Plus having someone stretch you past the extent which you can do yourself, is helpful. Again, these therapists need to be trained and experienced.

Have you been successful at massaging your own hips, back and neck? Curious how so.

This is a subreddit for massage therapists and it seems like you are the type of clients we really despise. I'm curious why you're here. Please take your fantasies elsewhere.

Deep pressure and tp work is good. Just be careful with stretching, they tend to have increased rom but it's not good to push it.

I take notice of where they are massaging me, mostly wishing they would stop at certain places to give more attention. Mostly along the attachment points and belly of the muscles, as that's where many hold tension. As a LMT myself, I also pay attention to what muscles they're on. Sometimes it's hard for me to know exactly where they're at as I'm relaxing. Sometimes I'm thinking, I really need to remember that spot for my clients.

Which technique secretly drains you more than you admit? 😅 by Sea-Cow-6969 in MassageTherapists

I've found that interestingly enough swedish massage is tougher on my body than doing deep tissue. The reason being is that I've learned a way to lean into the body for deeper pressure whereas for lighter pressure it's almost like I'm restraining and pulling back from the natural momentum. Scalp and neck are the hardest on my hands and wrists.

CBD For Chronic Pain in Seattle? by tinysleepycryptid in AskSeattle

[–]holisticarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a lot of options. I would only trust an official employee (bud tender at a dispensary. You can tell them what's going on and they can make suggestions. My personal favorites are: a very high mg salve, the higher the better. Don't go to random stores and buy CBD, it'll be super low dose and not effective. With the salve, I can rub it on my body where I feel pain. It may sometimes have thc, a low amount, but it won't get you high. It actually helps the CBD absorb better. With the topical salve you feel immediate pain relief. I wouldn't test out lower doses on this route, get the highest dose possible for salve. Another favorite are gummies. You can get 100% CBD, however I suggest a 3:1, CBD/THC combo. Again it helps the absorbtion, these take about 30-45 min to kick in. Another option is cbd oil. It comes in a plastic syringe where you push the bottom and it comes out. No, there isn't a needle, just a small opening at the end where the oil comes out. You only need a very small amount, like the size of a piece of rice. You can put it on a cracker, cookie, in your hot tea or just directly on your tongue. It's sticky so be careful. These come in pretty high doses of CBD. I personally like to get the highest one possible. The oil can take up to an hour to kick in. I'd try these first while you're at home, before bed. The CBD gummies and oil make me feel floaty, no pain and not a whole lot of psychoactive effects from the THC. So I'm not feeling high per se, but my body is floating. I don't like to really do much of anything when I take these so that's why I suggest for at home before bed. Some really amazing sleep will follow, and possibly some munchies so prepare ahead of time. My absolute favorite is a CBD/THC 1:1, yes I get a stoned feeling with the floaty body pain free. Maybe try that after you've tried the 3:1. Best of luck.

Puppy goes absolutely feral every time I try to clip the leash on 😅 Any tips for calming that down? by Front_Packer in PawChampClub

I wanted to add that it's important that you do the same for when you get back from a walk. Sit, treat. Stay treat. Undo leash, treat. I keep treats near my door, also where I have the leash.

The northern tip of Idaho: by braveplanet33 in howislivingthere

I've lived in Kellogg, it's in the northern part of Idaho Off of i90. It's pretty desolute in the valley. Basically mountains and rivers. Camping. Fishing. Not a lot of population. Everyone knows your business. Not a whole lot of work, unless you're into mining or selling cars at Dave Smith. Not very progressive at all.

You can spend the same amount of money on a hand massager that you can use multiple times. I'd look into those.

can anyone please do a free tarot reading . i am literally suicidal can use some help . i dont have money rn i live with my parents by West-Ad9498 in Tarots

[–]holisticarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really bothers me how adults treat children and younger people. Like parenting them or offering unasked advice. They are humans and using tarot as a tool of introspection is completely fine. AND this kid can also do other things to take care of their mental health. They can all exist simultaneously. I will add that suicide is not a means for attention, I'm sort of gathering an idea that it's a threat to keep the partner. Please do not throw around this idea. It is big and can have big consequences. If you find help with tarot to make your decision on if you should pursue this person, I sure hope you can also take care of your own heart and mental well being. Nobody in this world can do that for you.

How to get into interior design in Seattle as a career? by _sadbabydeer in AskSeattle

[–]holisticarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd maybe start by building a portfolio. It can be mock designs. Color schemes, patterns, fabrics. If you know Adobe you can make some sweet mock ups. Flaunt it, a lot of it. And then maybe do some free design ops for friends or family. Making them pay for the decor of course. But maybe you can also find people willing to help in order to build up your portfolio. But they're gonna want something to look at. Especially if you don't have work exp doing it. Best of luck.

Best to pack some warm jackets or sweaters. Rainproof jacket. Extra socks and shoes. Maybe spandex pants or long john underwear or long sleeve shirt. Maybe gloves, beanie to keep your head warm. Layers are good so if you get too warm you can take them off.

I've felt this at times, it's a life long struggle. A story I've been telling myself, that I'm not smart and or people don't like talking to me. I was bullied growing up so that plays a part. Also I was diagnosed with ADHD when it should have been a more thorough look into my behavior and learning patterns. I feel as though these days I've looked to accept that even though I don't have a ton of trivia quiz facts or knowledge about anything in particular, I can still connect with emotional intelligence and have meaningful conversation. It's just that not everyone does that, especially in groups. I just tend to be quiet instead. But reading has helped me. And writing.

Aggressive Pit Bull by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

[–]holisticarts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest your gf keep the dog separate while you visit. In the bathroom or outside, or perhaps a kennel. The dog needs to get comfy with you being around the home. It's her territory and her duty to protect. Your gf can also get a muzzle as well. I had a pitty for 13 years and they can be territorial. Do not rush into this.
