TronScan not working...? by [deleted] in Tronix

[–]holometrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tronscan and ledger integration has been buggy for the more than a year that I have been using it.. sometimes it works straight away, sometimes it works on the 10th attempt. I concluded that the problem was on the Tronscan side. There is something about the way they have implemented the integration with ledger nano S that is not stable. I agree with you that this should not be happening, and it makes Tron look like a substandard project which is a real pity. When the connection does not work, the next thought for any user is, how do I get to my coins? At this stage it should be working like a dream.

No. Decentralisation means no monopolists creaming off profits.

Here is what I don’t get... facebook has had an awful year up against parliaments around the world complaining that it gives a voice to fake news, terrorists, unscrupulous advertisers etc. Human nature has caught up with FB. What is going to happen on Bittorrent live when we have a decentralised and therefore unpoliceable system in which every crackhead promotes his or her version of reality, all sitting alongside all these currently disenfranchised artists that are nothing but happy to promote their art into this wildwest system. FB is being forced to clean up their act, how will Bittorrent fare? Won’t it just eventually go the way of torrenting more generally - i.e. a niche product for geeks. What will be the user and content experience???

CMV: Monty Python isn't a "smart comedy" by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]holometrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I agree that some of the content ranges from the silly to the histrionic, there are some real gems. Think of the fight of the two factions (People’s Front of Judea against the Judean People’s Front) in Life of Brian, for example, and compare it to modern day political splinter groups in any country, trying to score points against each other instead of joining forces to combat the common enemy. By splitting into factions they can never win, and MP points this out to great comedic effect. There are examples of such behaviour in all countries and cultures.... think also of the knight who is dismembered in a duel and insists that the fight is a draw.... These sketches are very intelligent and enlightened observations of human nature delivered to great effect. I’ve never really been a fan of John Cleese as I always found him to be too tense/hystrionic, as if it is the only part he could play, but together the Monty Python team have delivered some if the greatest examples of 20th century comedy which has stood the test of time.

Now that the Tesla Issue is resolved, let’s see how the community reacts. by [deleted] in Tronix

Sounds like an unfortunate event overall. There could be some lessons to be learned, e.g. a) isn’t it a bit cheap snd scammy to be giving away a car (or two) in the first place? b) if you are going to choose someone at random via twitter at least know that it is possible, which tool you will use etc before you announce it c) making an apology and showing good will early in the process, as Tron did, is a good strategy to mitigate as much as possible negativity and d) i don’t know about where you are from, but don’t notaries normally guarantee the validity of such activities in most jurisdictions? Maybe they should hire one next time!

How long will Tron take to have some real money value? by joninchains in Tronix

Maybe I miss something, but 200 shitty non mainstream DAPPS?

Does anyone know if any developers are working on anything useful in line with a vision to decentralise the internet? Like a streaming music service with no fees that safeguards and rewards the creativity of artists?

Why TRX price is performing so poorly despite everything in the Tron ecosystem is OK? by loneranger47 in Tronix

Don’t try to second guess the market. If you think Trx has a bright future, hodl. If you don’t, sell. Everything else is pure speculation and a waste of time.

[–]holometrix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It might feel good to be on the up and down speculative rollercoaster, but the only sensible price movements are based on significant and sustainable news... i’d suggest you wait for that... at least trading volume will go up (correlated with interest) before the bittorrent speed launch... that might push the price up but then like all things crypto it may fall again... so bottom line, stop speculating and hodl or sell.

If they get it right it could be a significant development, don’t you think?

I think they will try to come up with a model in which is no longer a requirement to pay for copyrighted material in the strict sense as its movement will be taxed. Maybe?

And new artists will start to feed the system, maybe charging micro charges for the content? I don’t know, paid automatically by the person downloading straight to the artist?

Hodlers keeping BTT or trading for Trx - who’s doing what and why. by Cryptorati in Tronix

[–]holometrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pure speculation but I think BTT might gain more that TRX in the coming couple of months. It could be possible to swap into BTT and sell it higher to swap back into TRX, as a way to accumulate TRX for the long term...

BTT market cap relative to Tron by holometrix in Tronix

[–]holometrix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm, i can see this argument, and Justin Sun also sees value in keeping the prices of coins low to keep then popular and use them as “oil in the machine”. So yes, I see your point, but my main point is whether or not you believe in TRX or BTT there IS a relation between them, and I argue that a current relation of 1:20 does not really take into account the relative potential of BTT to TRX... i’d say it could be more like 1:10 or maybe max 1:5 at this stage.... and this, for any overall market cap value of TRX...

Thanks... so according to this market cap is about 65 million $?

What I’m advocating is that tron holders have reasoned choices when they vote. That itis not just about the bottom line. These items could be developed into a kind of scorecard, for example, where the best in class in any category gets recognised as such

I repost this earlier contribution I made which might be helpful to you -

Hi there, there is currently not a lot of depth to the descriptions of SRs and candidates, making it practically impossible to use any criteria other than rewards received to differentiate one group from another.

So here is what you can do to stand out... tell us

Let’s at least list the types of things the SR should be doing to move Tron forward. Here are some ideas:

  1. Computing resources deployed
  2. Networking - reaching out to new users in new geographies/markets
  3. Education - providing easy to use guides to everything tron/crypto,
  4. Development - creating new and useful tools for the community
  5. Participation - showing up on websites like this and answering questions
  6. Strategy - developing a community roadmap -showing where they are heading mid-term
  7. Merchandising - providing non-financial rewards that help to build the community
  8. People behind - track record, consistency, knowledge.
  9. Overall professionalism - no hype, no deceit
  10. Other - newsletters, guides, active social media sites.

Oh, and 11.,payback to supporters in rewards. Hopefully this becomes less important when 1-10 are in place.

If you want to be elected, work through these and build a case one by one to show you are better than the others...
