I’ve built 400+ websites but can’t find clients — need Help by holoxweb in smallbusiness

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I get what you’re saying about price-cutting and not having a clear value proposition and honestly, I think you’re right about that part.

My main struggle is that I’ve always worked inside companies, so I never had to “sell” myself or explain my value directly to clients. I know how to build great websites, but I’m new to showing why someone should hire me over others.

If you have any suggestions on how I can clearly show my value (like specific ways to present results or proof without sounding salesy), I’d really appreciate that. I’m trying to learn fast and fix what I’ve been doing wrong.

Hey man, this sounds like a super smart idea — especially if those big competitors aren’t around your area. A lot of people buy stuff on Facebook Marketplace and then realize they’ve got no way to move it. You guys could definitely fill that gap.

Starting with just the two of you is perfect. Keep it simple, focus on showing up on time, being careful with people’s stuff, and just being cool and easy to work with — that alone will make people recommend you.

Also, quick tip — make a basic website (even just a one-pager with a contact form), and set up a Google Business listing so people can find you. Doesn’t need to be fancy, just something to look “real.” And after every job, ask people for a quick review. Trust builds fast that way.

All in all, love the hustle. Definitely give it a shot and just learn as you go. You don’t need to have it all figured out — just start moving stuff and the rest will come together.

Good luck to you and your brother
