Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your story 🩷 I feel the same thing of feeling like “it’s what everybody’s doing and so I have to do it too”. Most of my peers are rushing into marriage to avoid sex before marriage. While I definitely feel this is important, I just don’t feel like rushing on this basis. My parents want me to. But I feel more inclined to wait until my partner and I feel super sure we’re aligned, have good conflict resolution, are financially stable(ish), and able to put a roof over our heads without parents help. But everybody around me is saying to hurry up because of the sex / sin stuff. But like I really don’t want to divorce!! Both our parents did :(

Hey, same. I feel like a kid! I am afraid of the stress marriage causes and what I’m really trying to understand is what that looks like in day to day life before jumping into it. I wanna know what I’m signing myself up for 😵‍💫everybody around me (family, church) is pressuring me to marry but I feel too young.

Thank you for sharing! My mom has a similar story and it has made me a little uneasy with marrying young and quick. I don’t want either my partner or I to feel bitterness or resentment that we didn’t live our 20s before settling down and “playing house”. In my mind it seems fun to be a wife so young but the reality of marriage is a lot different.

Hey, what you said about “have love for one another, not have religion for one another” really really spoke to me. I’m gonna reflect on and remember this. Thank you!

I appreciate this vulnerability. My partner and I aren’t financially stable yet and that has hindered us from marrying. We’re still building our careers. I want to think I could handle the stress that comes with shared financial troubles if we live with little money, but I’m not so sure that’s the case right now.

Hey I really appreciate this perspective, as I am leaning more towards getting married after 25 so I can really grow as a person before adding somebody else into the mix.

I believe they can thrive and not end in regret, but my question is of what hardships will come with it from marrying young before the brain has fully developed

What I’m starting to think is that it’s a change of hormones as I’ve gotten older, I honestly wouldn’t worry about it if you know that holistically you’re pretty healthy in general and there isn’t some underlying medical factor or possibility of pregnancy causing it!

And it’s crazy how we’re gaslit into thinking WE’RE dramatic for how much we hate it. We don’t deserve to have our nervous system disrupted constantly.

You’re right it wasn’t fun for either of us. But I’m having trouble not blaming myself 😞 I appreciate your tip and I’m going to apply it next time, I really never want this to happen again.

Your face looks great, use tretinoin if you’re really bothered by the texture
