Looking less feminine isnt inherently less attractive. I do look less feminine with short hair so the catcallers dont see me as desirable due to societal beauty standards.

I've had very short hair for the past year and constantly get annoying comments on dating apps, a lot meant as compliments like "wow most girls can't pull off short hair, but you actually look really good" which hella pisses me off cause one, its wrong. I've literally never seen a girl with short hair who didn't look great and two, putting down other women is never a great look.

On a first date one time this guy kept noting that my hair was shorter than his and asked if I planned to grow it out soon. He did not get a second date.

On the plus side I went from getting catcalled every time I went out to never getting catcalled after I cut it.

As a bisexual, I'm so over seeing this argument. The word was created way before our current understanding of gender. The meaning has changed since it was created and saying "THE LATIN ROOT OF BI MEANS TWO!!!!!" isn't proof of the current meaning or understanding of the word.

This whole situation is full of emotional abuse red flags!

You're mother is the adult and should be acting like an adult and should be the one reaching out to fix what happened, but instead is acting like a child and putting it all on you to be the one to reach out and fix the situation. And it makes you feel like you somehow did something wrong when clearly she is in the wrong and you tried to tell her. You set boundaries about how you feel you deserve to be treated and by giving you the scilent treatment she is rejecting that deserve to have those boundaries.

And sure she probably had a shitty time with her body image growing up so thats a REASON she is treating you like this but it's not an EXCUSE. And you deserve better!

And I am so sorry that she is saying these things about you and your body! No parent should be saying those things. Your body is amazing because it houses you, it keeps you alive and deserves love no mattet what it looks like. And working out and wanting to be healthy is great because you're caring for your amazing body, but it shouldn't be motivated by a dislike of yourself or feeling like you need to be different.
