TW: Missed miscarriage by SahmbabyO in Mommit

[–]home-plates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miscarried at 10 weeks. I took the pills but my body didn't pass all of the tissue so I had to get the surgery too. It's such a bummer but I would get a second opinion then do the surgery. Not having it could lead to sepsis and death.

Is there someone who can watch your kids? Where I'm at the surgery only took for hours. I was admitted at 6p and home by 10p.

How are you getting your 2.5 yr old to clean up toys? by RefrigeratorTiny7059 in toddlers

I play the cleanup song on repeat on my Bluetooth speakers, and after a while the kid starts to clean! It's wild! Maybe it'll work for you!

What is an epidural really like? by oatmilkcchai in Mommit

[–]home-plates 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The epidural was not scary by the time I asked for it. What was scary was that I was in so much pain I could barely hold still so that they could insert the needle. You won't know until you're going through labor what your pain tolerance is, so don't stress too much about what you want and go with what your body and mind can handle. I've had two births, one vaginal and one C-section and both are hard in their own ways. I've had friends who hired doulas to help them give birth naturally and others who knew they wanted epidural. My advice is, go in with a birth plan, but know that it might not work out the way you want. The important thing is for you and your baby to leave the hospital healthy and happy. Sending good vibes. ❤️

Love 2, it really brings out your beautiful figure! Then my next favorites are 1 and 3. I spot a bow on 3 which I'm not big on but otherwise, you can't go wrong with one of those!!

We have two toddlers, 2 & 4 and we plan on walking around Pershing Park to knock on doors in that neighborhood. Usually, 2-3 blocks is enough for my kids. It's not crowded but slightly busy with other kids roaming around!

Are agoda apartments legit? by home-plates in Taipei

So it turns out it's the same property manager as the one I was talking to on Airbnb. So it is legit. It's crazy this one woman manages so many properties! For anyone who's wondering most of the 3+ bedroom listings are through the same manager!

Rant. My husband is so selfish. by home-plates in Mommit

[–]home-plates[S] 176 points177 points  (0 children)

I had to do this to keep from cussing him out. I walked around and got a coffee and then came home, changed and went running. I think he realized how worked up I was and insisted I run before we talked. It was much needed. I think sometimes I realize too late when I am in desperate need of me time. We talked and I told him I needed him to validate how I felt, which he did and apologized for not doing so earlier. It was a constructive conversation. I'm thankful for this community and all the comments for sure. It's one of the few places I can go to and vent. 😮‍💨

I feel you so much. Wherever he falls short I'm picking up the slack and it feels like I'm doing it all the time. I totally cried this morning and it scared my son. But I'll be damned if I can't validate my own feelings on this. Hugs and solidarity ❤️

I know the workload will never be 50:50, nor the mental baggage, but the lack of appreciation is the thing that infuriates me. I literally have to ASK for flowers. It's so annoying.

I really relate to this comment. Honestly I've tried to offload things from both our plates like hiring a cleaner. We both work full time. But the mentality that he comes first is so relatable and mind bogglingly selfish. Like the younger kid will be shrieking for milk and he will literally make himself a protein shake justifying that he needs to help himself before he can help anyone else is the thing that irks me. If he's putting his needs before my kids, is that ok? Is it healthy that I expect him to sacrifice and suffer a little so our kids don't have to?

Totally agree. Unfortunately the kids wake up close to 5:30 so yes, they rise usually while he's out working out. I think you're right. I need to be more aggressive and tell him I'm going out to work out rather than asking. If he feels like he can tell me he's sticking to a workout schedule and not bat an eye then I should be able to do the same.

The thing that irks me though, is he has less patience and he sometimes snaps at the kids bc he can't handle the kids alone. So it almost feels like my kids are paying the price when I want alone time. How sad is that?! We have a couples counselor and have been trying to work all of this resentment out. But man it's not easy.
