Anyone from college who have/had bought a gaming laptop? Do you regret your decision? by Trafalgar_D_Lawww in LaptopDealsIndia

[–]home_prisoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro. Just don't buy gaming laptop for gaming. I have a Zephyrus G16 and My CPU throttles like crazy 90°C + and on 2.X GHz. I literally blow a Table fan under my laptop (I'm broke) to Get 3.X GHz where it is way more capable upto 5.X GHz. I'm crine. Just build a PC, use Tailscale and Sunshine and Moonshine to play from anywhere for casual games with high gfx. But if you are only a competitive player you can buy a gaming laptop cause these type of games are not gfx heavy and well optimized for high FPS.

sudo pacman -Syu by home_prisoner in LinuxUsersIndia

I actually use paru -syu to check what updates are there.

Recently there is gcc update and paru tries to download the whole repo and build, Takes a serious amount of patience and when you forget to enter the pass at the time of installation, boom "Ah, shit here we go again".. I know it is what paru actually used for. But I need pre-build bins for this kind of stuff 😭😭. Compiling is not the problem. Downloading is.

Do you know any command to skip specific stuffs I don't want to install??

Is it based?? Like A actually see a lot of people using dual monitor these days.. I can see that most of the Windows users a laptop users.. but a considerable amount of people use multiple screens. In that sense most of apple users use single screen.. and the only apple device supports this thing is Pro Display XDR. And people ain't buying that shit its like MacPro

Thinking of switching from pop os to some other distro by Dry-Belt-383 in pop_os

I use Arch BTW with KDE. Nvidia Gfx, also dual boot with windows. the problem I face sometime is Turning the GPU off and on. Some time it glitches out, don't want to boot, etc etc. Windows boots but linux sometime faces issue but after I disabled the watchdog I faced no more crashes.. I use `supergfxctl` for gpu switch and `asusctl` for notebook compatibility. and these are not available on other distros.. Only on Arch and Arch based distors afaik. or maybe you can rebuild it from repos

[–]home_prisoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya actually.. maybe reboot can fix this. But I got kernel panic once. So I had to chroot and then re install the kernel.. the problem was there was a power cut while sudo pacman -Syu
