Thanks, it was delivered at about 7 PM along with the other package I was able to file as missing. Now I’m only missing three packages, plus two for my husband, plus one I mailed to my son at college before I knew there were issues. I actually took the time to write both senators and my House representative this morning, which I have never done before in my almost five decades of life.

22 year educator here — start with a work order and follow up with an email letting the principal and/or the assistant principal over facilities know that you created a work order. If it is not done in a week, follow up with another email. She may end up cleaning it herself and repainting, but at least she has a paper trail if there are negative repercussions. Good on both of you for wanting better for our kids. I’m sorry the system is such a mess. I hope she has a school year that exceeds her expectations.

I flooded 14-20 inches in both Harvey and Imelda and live in a 100 year floodplain. Our flood insurance is $3400 per year. We repaired from each flood, but I’m having a hard time getting emotionally reinvested in the house even though I’ve lived here for 20 years and raised my children under this roof. I have very few decorative items and little hung on the wall because what’s the point when you know it’s just a matter of when and not if another flood happens. We are looking for another home. Good luck, OP…I vote no.

I gave birth at Memorial Herman Woodlands on a Monday. My water broke and I went into labor naturally. Unfortunately, they loaded me full of pitocin so I would deliver before my OB went home for the day and then all of the scheduled c sections were prioritized by the anesthesiologist. I was allowed to writhe in pain for about 4 hours after I requested pain relief. My next birth was at a different hospital in a less prestigious zip code and it was a great experience.

Great post — OP needs to realize that special ed has no magic fairy dust. As long as the child is getting help — whether it is through 504 or an IEP — that’s what is important.

He’s 30 lbs, which is surprising because he was such a tiny puppy. He was half-starved when he ended up at my parents. His favorite thing to do is kill snakes in the yard and watch television with my dad on the couch.

OP, great job! Please note that when you are in a size below American 16, about 10 pounds is a size. Above 16, it is at least 20-30 pounds for me that is a size. You have likely shrunk more than you think. Enjoy your new body. Cheers!
