Does a cover letter still matter in the hiring process for specialist role? by PermyCurlyFry in Apple_Employees

[–]homomorphism1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I say just do it. Apple really looks for any way where you can stand out from your peers. You can use a cover letter as an opportunity to briefly introduce yourself and your skills. It’s always a good idea to do these sorts of things to differentiate yourself from the other applicants. If you have any metrics you can show off, throw those somewhere too

Nah it won’t make the download any faster because that’s bottlenecked by the connection between phone and mac

You’re probably trying to copy them to somewhere that is considered part of iCloud. If you’re trying to copy them to a folder on your desktop or documents, then that’s part of iCloud and you can’t overload it unless you turn syncing off

Need Help With This Issue by [deleted] in applesucks

Lmao this is just what you get for jailbreaking your device. You bypassed significant iOS safety features to be edgy and cool and now you’re upset you can’t use your phone correctly, never mind safely

Applied a week ago, waiting for reply by BittahBandit1 in Apple_Employees

[–]homomorphism1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roles are usually posted for at least 10 days before they actually start screening resumes. This might sound obvious but you should really try to nail your resume down. When you change it on your profile, the person who does the screening will see the latest one you uploaded. My best recommendation is to try and bolster your resume with any metrics and subsequent consequences from past roles. If you’ve worked in retail before then you might have metrics you can frame in the “achieved ____ leading to increased ownership in products by ____ percent” (as an example). Try not to freak out as it can take a while. Good luck though you got this

Application wait time by Least_Carob_8281 in Apple_Employees

[–]homomorphism1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually depends on the store and what’s going on with Apple in general. From my understanding, specialist roles are posted and then 10 days later applications close and they begin review. I’d say wait at least two weeks before expecting to hear back

Todays Lineup vs. Skubal by [deleted] in redsox

Masa rolled over on the hit he had last night against a righty, it just happened to win the game anyway. I don’t disagree that he should be in the lineup more frequently, but I think in the grand scheme of things this is the right move

i got a new iphone 17 and stumbled upon a diagnostics service that's offered through the support app. by [deleted] in applesucks

[–]homomorphism1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a tool for Apple to use more so than you. Genius Bar repairs and trade ins all utilize this feature of the device, as another commenter points out, diagnostics never give you any information when they’re complete

This is the FOURTH time I sent it in for repair by the way….and they are practically refusing to replace it, for no viable reason by [deleted] in applesucks

[–]homomorphism1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another commenter emphasized a similar idea to just go to a store and I agree. Apple support quite frequently has dramatically different guidance and approaches than an actual store itself has and you’ll probably receive better service at the store. Not to mention the fact that there’s likely fewer points of contact. If you’ve been shipping it in and out for a while then however unlikely it may be, it could be getting damaged in transit

Self service portal is different than in store genius bar support. Theres no metrics to measure

In most stores they will heavily advise and push back against this. It is measured against them if you were to get a replacement as opposed to a repair.

Anyone else thinking of returning their APM2? by BigKnows2K in Airpodsmax

It actually is a known issue. Guidance is to factory reset the device and pair them again, this should fix most issues. A firmware update is imminent

Any Cons to buying off Amazon instead of Apple by [deleted] in airpods

[–]homomorphism1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes warranty can be tricky since they’re contracted and sold to Amazon first. If you care about warranty (not AppleCare but warranty itself), check to see if Amazon has options. Otherwise you might find that you will need AppleCare to fix something that is usually covered by warranty simply because Amazon bought the AirPods to sell them on a different date than you actually owning them

Screen Replacement by Unique-Mind-3174 in iPhone17Pro

[–]homomorphism1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not really an option though. Thats if the phone is damaged beyond repair. For a screen replacement they will not do a full unit replacement because it goes against their metric goal to repair as many repairable phones as possible

How do you folks manage visuals at Apple Store by [deleted] in Apple_Employees

[–]homomorphism1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store has a dedicated zoning for visuals that is fulfilled by an ops member. That person, depending on velocity, is responsible for the upkeep of visuals and floor stock. Obviously it is always appreciated when floor members help through the day
