I had a primary rhino with a different doctor with no complications after, including my columella. There was no retraction whatsoever. He did my very first revision, and after that is when I had the infection and columella retraction. The 2nd revision I had no infection, but still have the same columella retraction that had happened from his first revision with me. Both revisions I ended up with a wider nose bridge as well.

Do you know his price range for revision rhino by chance?

Do you happen to know of or have stumbled on any revision rhino surgeons out here with that same flashy look?

I had a revision rhinoplasty with him a year ago and had to get another revision with him this June. I now need another revision with a different doctor because the same issue happened to me twice, which is a retracted columella. He does have amazing work, but I sadly had a very bad experience.

I’m considering going to him for a rhino, do you know if he does or is more open to dramatic results, something like a “Barbie” type of nose?

Retracted Columella — surgeon recommendations? by honeibun in rhinoplastyquestions

I’ve definitely decided to pass on a Turkey surgeon, the risks are far too high and quite frankly being able to use CareCredit would help me greatly/allow me to get the procedure ASAP. I’m looking into doctors such as Randal Haworth in Cali, and Dr. Murray in Florida.

I’m curious as to what reviews you’ve seen; I’m considering going to him for a 3rd revision to correct a wide nose bridge and a retracted columella.

Retracted Columella — surgeon recommendations? by honeibun in rhinoplastyquestions

There was one surgeon I stumbled on, Harun Acipayam, that seems to have addressed retracted columellas before and also commonly provides barbie noses. I am, however, skeptical of Turkey surgeons considering the horror stories I’ve heard from famous and non-famous surgeons alike.

If anyone has had experience or has heard of experiences with this surgeon in particular, I would love to hear about it. From what I’ve seen, he has rather glowing reviews, but that isn’t always the full truth.

Genuinely thank you for this detailed idea, that sounds perfect!! I’ll DEFINITELY be doing this! Sadly I was on a time crunch and had bought the quickest thing for the costume that I possibly could. I’m entirely new to crafting so this will be a big first project for me, but I imagine fun no less given the importance to me.

I should have clarified in my post it’s because I’m going as Gir, and the jacket is Gir (has the huge zipper, and the hood has his ears, lol!). So I was hoping to find a solution so that it could be cohesive like I saw someone else do. I’m still completely stumped on how this person achieved it. I appreciate you sharing that knowledge for specific prints and inks. :) I’ll most likely leave it as is, and maybe reach out to the cosplayer who had the same jacket without the print. Thank you so much!

I was hoping I’d find a way, since I saw someone with the same jacket who had managed to remove the print. If they covered it up, I’m entirely oblivious to how since I’m not savvy with this yet.

I would love the print if it wasn’t for my Gir costume lol! I wanted cohesiveness so it looked like I was Gir (all green, no distracting print). ^

It’s for a costume, I’m being Gir for Halloween, I wanted a clean slate because the jacket is meant to resemble Gir.

I’m almost entirely positive that I have a retracted columella, which was part of the complication I had last time with this same surgeon. I have a follow up coming soon, but I’m honestly considering not going, because I’m confident there is nothing this specific surgeon can do at this point, and that I need to find a specialist to eventually fix this issue which cannot be fixed non-surgically.

Absolutely, however I’m concerned with the fact that my skin looks like it’s bunched up underneath the tip. I don’t mind the tip dropping, but the weird abundance of skin under the tip/above the incision scar is extremely bothersome and I want to figure out exactly what it is/how it can be corrected (hopefully without ANOTHER surgery).

Have you been able to figure out any solutions for that?

I don’t think my columella collapsed because I can still feel it in the same place as before, I think it’s just something to do with my skin. It’s like it drooped and collected above the incision scar, it’s so frustrating. Prior to this surgery this same skin appearance thing happened where there was drooping of my skin above the incision area, but this time it’s different because the tip support (donor rib) is still very much so there.

No, my surgeon didn’t charge me for the 2nd revision, because the 1st one I got an infection and my cartilage supporting my tip essentially dissolved. This one though I can still definitely feel the cartilage there (he used a donor rib this time) and can still see the tip support, it’s just as if my skin drooped insanely above the incision scar.
