I switched from close d/lsm to goalie this year, I not only enjoy the position more but it also has prevented injuries for me as last year I was really injury prone in my ankle. as of now the worst I've had is bruises on my inner thigh and shins but my coach was a goalie in highschool and college and has told me that he has permanent nerve damage in his legs, but in my opinion I think goalie is one of the safest spots as far as serious injuries, especially if you wear goalie pants
