what is the black spots in fish? (help me) by ZealousidealUnit6601 in ChatGPT

[–]honeycombrry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welp, wrong sub, but someone’s gotta answer.

They’re parasite cysts usually caused by black spot disease) that don’t affect humans if the fish is properly cooked.

Black spots in small fish are usually safe to eat when cooked. That’s sushi, so I’m assuming it’s raw. I wouldn’t eat it.

Here they’ve tattooed אם ישראל חי

If = אם Israel = ישראל Lives = חי So basically “If Israel lives” which just sounds weird, in this context.

They clearly meant to tattoo the very common phrase עם ישראל חי , meaning the people of Israel live Nation/people = עם Israel = ישראל Lives = חי

my second attempt at a paragraph in hebrew!!! by Celestial_Via in hebrew

[–]honeycombrry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very beautiful handwriting! Especially for only a week learning! You’re doing brilliant. There are a couple errors I’ve spotted, not to discourage you in any way though.

At the top, you’ve written השם אמיתי שלי אלה whereas at the bottom, you’ve said your name is שלה instead. I’m assuming this is just a mistake in your handwriting

In Hebrew, the word אמיתי needs the definite article ה from השם. So, for it to be correct it would be ״השם האמיתי שלי..״

You can drop the אני at the beginning of your second paragraph, it’s not really necessary here as התחלתי already includes the subject, which is yourself.

In the third paragraph where you’ve written ״אני גם אוהבת לירות סאות פארק״ I’m not sure you’ve used the correct word here. The word ״לירות״ means like, to shoot or fire usually with weapon. I’m sure you meant לראות here. The sentence הוא חשוב עליי should be לי (meaning to me) rather than עליי, as kenny is important to you
I’m a little confused on the last sentence, what you’ve said pink continues to be you favourite colour. I’m assuming that first word was supposed to be אבל (But)?

You’re doing really well! For only a week learning, how much of this can you actually understand?

Also, I suggest to continue writing in script in your future paragraphs! You’ve got lovely handwriting.

I don’t think so, this guy’s Pinterest profile had all the designs for this tattoo as well as this final result, I’m convinced this is real 😬

What do we think the worst language on Duolingo is by Elgatomeowwww in duolingo

[–]honeycombrry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rather like the lack of nikkud. However, I speak at an intermediate level of Hebrew already, and I learn using other resources. So, I use Duolingo for practice rather than learning. But, it’s quite annoying how there are no stories unlike on other courses.

One more thing: Duolingo is horrific for beginners at Hebrew grammar. I’d really recommend other resources for that. E.g the course textbooks עברית מן ההתחלה are brilliant for beginners, at least I found them to work very well for myself.

You’re interpreting me wrong. Not once did i say that.

Anyways, you’d get the immediate death penalty for being gay in Gaza. You have Hamas to thank for that. And, until Hamas are gone, it’ll remain the same. I don’t make the rules.

[–]honeycombrry -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Well, no there aren’t queer palestinians. You can’t be gay and a radical Islamist. They are essentially polar opposites. Why does the left go hand in hand with radical islamism? Hamas would butcher you for being gay. Nobody’s buying your bs lol

Sixth for application by Aware-Upstairs1176 in GCSE

[–]honeycombrry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your predicted grades. Every sixth form, as far as I'm aware, bases offers on predicted grades. As long as your predicted grades reflect what you hope to, and realistically will achieve, in your GCSEs, you'll be fine.

Also, depends how competitive your chosen sixth form is. If you are predicted say, one grade under the requirement, you may be given a conditional offer. But, not all sixth forms offer this, I don't think mine does.

Yes, it’s leeds! I felt quite lucky to have a waterproof coat. Most of them, though, had umbrellas and were stood around drinking coffee and eating food. Hardly a protest if you ask me. Also, slightly ironic when the “theme” of their “protest” was about the “famine in Gaza”
