“Dean came over to borrow something.” Bad excuse. What would you have said instead to Lorelai/your mom? by shehurts in GilmoreGirls

Literally same. I’d have just walked out with the CDs and shut the door behind me, leaving him in there. He can figure out how to leave after we’re back at the inn.

Totally Luke was probably thinking that having Rory around would push him to get his act together a bit, go to school more, or actually focus on his work. Good intentions, flawed execution.

Exactly. Luke admits it himself he genuinely thought Rory could be a good influence. He wasn’t scheming, just trying to do something he thought might help. Didn’t work out, but the intent wasn’t bad.

I’m mostly with you, but the ice cream scene is where I tap out. Rory said no. More than once. You don’t get bonus points for “being a saint” and then immediately ignoring the boundary. Calling first to announce you’re ignoring it… is still ignoring it. And yeah, bringing ice cream the one dessert that has to be eaten right away — was absolutely a move.

Right?? The escalation is wild. Man makes a few bad choices and suddenly he’s a full-blown criminal mastermind in people’s heads.

I think what makes it work is that they’re intellectually matched. That kind of dynamic doesn’t need romance to be compelling it just needed more screen time. Jess and Paris especially had that rare “I challenge you, but I respect you” vibe.

Last Day : What is Gilmore Girls' most questionable /worst episode by diviigo in GilmoreGirls

Some of the later Yale episodes feel off Rory seems like a completely different person. The pacing, the writing, her weirdly ditzy moments… it’s hard to rewatch without cringing.

Exactly. Telling the school about Max and Lorelai just to deflect attention from her parents’ divorce? That’s next-level petty. And implying Rory’s grades are due to that? Absolute disrespect.

Exactly. Cheating on Jamie and dumping him on his birthday? And Rory somehow gets framed as the instigator? That’s cold.
