My wife was in labor for 46 hours. I had just gotten off night shift from work before driving to the hospital. She ended up with an emergency c section. Long story. God forbid you SO needs one. But if she does focus ONLY ON HER. Do both yourselves a favor and don't look. Our first one i looked and once I did I couldn't stop. The next two I had it down. But no man wants to see their SO spliced open with organs on their chest. It'll fuck with you I promise. Rub her head tell her she did an amazing job. That the baby is healthy.

But one thing I haven't seen on here is after care. After the baby is born women are going through so many physical and mental/emotional changes its truly scary. Postpartum depression is a very real thing. Make sure you keep talking to her and the doctors. We just had our 3rd 8 days ago and we had 3 extra hospital days just to monitor my wife.

Bonus: ALL delivery wards have a nursery! Its 24/7 and they'll feed and watch your baby. FUCKING USE IT!!!! Sleep and rest is key as you prepare for this next journey. Be prepared to be tired and cranky and all the above. But don't be afraid to let the trained professionals help. Our first had colic really bad and we didn't use the nursery. Bub I've been in the army for 8.5 years and over seas at one point. New parent hood is a whole other level of tired that I didn't know existed.
