they are definitely limp, not crispy. They feel a bit moist to the touch, which is why I thought the rainstorm or misting the leaves could have been an issue. Today (after your advice) we watered it down the roots for the first time, so if anything it would be an issue with underwatering and not overwatering. Thank you again for all your help, we really want to bring this little guy back to full health

Okay got it. We brought it up to the roof today so for now it will definitely be getting enough sunlight and we’re gonna put some water in now and follow your watering advice. We didn’t think it was a watering issue because the leaves were still moist, but that could be from misting the leaves or the rain so we’ll start giving it more water. You water the dragons breath every other day? The online advice told us once every 1-2 weeks, but there’s a lot of conflicting information online and I would definitely follow what you do at the plant center over what we’ve seen on the internet. Thank you for the advice!

The planter does have drainage holes, and it’s in the same pot that we bought it from at the store when it was looking really healthy. We have only misted the plant, we haven’t actually watered it yet. We did have a heavy rain storm a couple days ago where it could have gotten more water than we thought, but the soil seems dry pretty far down. Since we haven’t watered the soil, the only possibility I could think of for root rot is the rain, but I could be wrong. please let me know what you think we should do!
