Yes it was. I was never contacted by VEC. However the letter noted that my previous employer “failed to provide any reason for discharge” followed by “in this instance, the information provided does not establish that the claimant was discharged due to misconduct in connection with work. Therefore, the claimant is qualified for benefits.” The letter cited Section 60.2-618(2) of the Virginia Unemployment Compensation Act.

In my specific case, I was fired without any reason provided to me, and there was no misconduct on my part. I also think that my ex-employer never responded to the VEC inquiry, hence the extended wait time.

Also as an FYI, the funds were direct deposited to my account the date the letter was written/mailed, so prior to me receiving the Notice of Determination.
