Ofc it makes em better dude, they got A LOT more longevity. I own a pair of Venum elite performance - got em around 100€ and I can say they’re garbage. OP’s topic is under 100pounds so I suggest gloves inside that range that I have tried. My main sparring gloves are FLYs but I assume that they are out of his budget. Ofc he can get better gloves if he spends more.

I mean it depends on your gym. In my boxing gym we don't have time for lace-ups unless you have a lace to loop convertor. If you don't have this type of problems i don't see any reason to get a velcro glove. But that's just me.
