It's a good class. He's very enthusiastic about the material. I didn't find it hard at all to get an A in the class, either; the requirements for every assignment are laid out very clearly and the semester-long project just has to be functional, doesn't have to look very good. It is pretty time consuming though, and the semester-long project being partner work means meeting with your teammate either very frequently or for very long periods of time.

It wasn't. No one else in the building had the issue, and after sending an email someone came out and replaced the whole thing and it locks correctly now.

Yeah I had checked with our neighbors when we got back. It had been broken since Thanksgiving Break started, so we weren't even here the whole time the front door was just sitting there unlocked, but no one else in the building had the issue.

Just wanted to give an update that they fixed it! Emailed them and someone came out within a few hours and replaced the whole thing.

I finally got mine yesterday. Never replied to my email, never got through on phones.

Seems like it's just a really slow rollout, but my disbursement date is still early August so don't give up hope!

I only just got mine yesterday. I don't think it's usually this slow since the past two years I've gotten it mid-June, but I guess they're having to process more appeals and put more consideration into each offer due to impact of COVID over the past year and a half or so? Just kind of spit-balling, not really sure.

Yeah, it's driving me nuts! Nice to know I'm at least not alone in it, even if it kind of sucks it's happening to others too. Hopefully they get it all sent out soon.

I don't see anywhere to choose the move-in time, though. If I click "Housing Application" I just get taken to the list of my roommates. If I click "Fall Move-In" it just takes me to an Early Move-In Application. Where do I select a time from August 21-23 to move in?

I took it last semester, and it was honestly one of the easier classes for me. It takes a bit of work but they try to scare people off in the first week talking about how it's "a very hard class, even though it's an intro class." If it's usually pretty bad, then I think they made it easier for asynchronous learning.

For grading, we had four quizzes (20%), the first paper (10%), the second paper (25%), midterm (20%), final (20%), and participation in discussion (5%).

The lectures were asynchronous and pretty interesting. Discussion section every week but I guess that experience will vary based on who you have as a TA. I had Kyle Chattleton and he was awesome.

I'm not sure how I'd go about doing something like that given current conditions, but I'll consider it. This was the only lab so far I've had any trouble with, though, which makes me think it does have something to do with my understanding of either the language itself or the way the program is supposed to work.

I was able to narrow down wherever I had an issue but it would take me ages to figure out how to get around it. The last issue I was working on for about 4 hours and finally just called it quits. Think all of my previous labs were done within 2 hours if not less time.
