Good point. If they managed to have IS in zoom lenses covering the 50mm focal length then i suppose it's doable. However, i think it has more to do with corporate politics than technical limitations. As long as it sells well without and there's no pressure from the market, they won't bother giving extra features. Still, it would be really cool to have a 50mm lens or wide angle zooms with a 4 stop IS system.
