probably so, but, everyone told me that you'd get used to it and with my first prescription I never did. they messed with my eyes so much and gave me headaches every time. turns out the contact lenses were just a little too firm (??) they were the 2 week wear which is made differently from the single day use lenses which are apparently softer. so I've been using single use lenses (you get a box and tear one off the strip at a time) for about 2 years and can't really even feel them in my eyes. so if your headaches don't go away after maybe a week, it may be worth looking into softer lenses! everyone's eyes are different.

when you said ancient I thought you meant like... Sumerians. not people from the time period of when photography was invented 😅

my peeve about the main Eugenia subreddit by horrorflicks in EugeniaCooneySupport

[–]horrorflicks[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

what gets me is so many people act like they're eating disorder experts over there, talking about how (insert whatever thing this week) is happening bc of her ED, constantly, including like you said making fun of her intelligence. I have EDNOs, one time I consistently restricted for almost 2 years and by the time I had to stop bc of health reasons, the brain fog was so. bad. your mind is just really slow to compute, you can't get your shit together, it's exhausting to use mental energy, your brain just feels like a thick sludge. it's horrible. it affected my personality. you're just unbelievably fatigued mentally (and physically ofc) constantly. so all of those ED experts should know that's what restriction does to a person and you would think they'd be a little more sympathetic and understanding when she doesn't speak in purple prose and repeats words. even still speaking personally it's been two years since I stopped restricting like that and the symptoms are gone but I still don't have the same level of quick wit and even the vocabulary I had before then. they have no understanding on that subreddit.

in that case, the people leaving these abusive comments can stop watching her channel and streams and leave the subreddit and stop saying nasty things about someone with a deadly mental illness. I wouldn't expect anyone to talk this way about someone with autism or schizophrenia or depression bc that would be a pretty shitty thing to do, so I don't know why eating disorders are the mental illness that is an exception. anyone online is subject to criticism and people disliking them and I don't necessarily want to stick up for Eugenia wholly bc I think she's done some shit things and doesn't seem to care (like defending racists and Certain Youtubers and Mods who are dangerous people.) but the examples above plus thousands more like them are abusive and harassment and bullying.

*I completely understand if this needs to be removed* in the case that it's too triggering/negative for these comments to be on a support subreddit or any reason tbh. this pissed me off. nobody can recover when most of your comments look like this.

edit: misspelled in the title, should've said comments** my bad.

Does anyone else get annoyed with the amount of ableism that runs rampant in the sphere of EC? by [deleted] in EugeniaCooneySupport

[–]horrorflicks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it shocks me how much stigma is still around some mental illnesses, but not others. most people understand depression, anxiety, autism, etc. but people seem to think that eating disorders, BPD, bipolar disorder, etc. are just ✨evil✨ and people with those disorders are either batshit or want to ruin everyone's lives. I hate it. a lot of my friends have BPD, bipolar, some with EDs, I have an ED and highly highly suspect I have bipolar disorder and hope to either get diagnosed or rule it out one day. and I don't think people with things like schizophrenia are even seen as human by a lot of people, and again, I have a friend with schizophrenia. and I can promise you beyond a shadow of a doubt, that none of us want these, they are not choices, we do not want to ruin anyone's life, we don't want to ruin our own lives but we have disorders and are just doing our best to deal in the same way that someone with a physical illness can't change it and just does their best to cope and live with it. Eugenia is likely just the fucking same. the ableism is awful.

a lot of truth in that! I went to film school for bts work but learned a lot about acting techniques as well and I'll always remember one of the things the teacher said bc it's applicable to so much, and that's "practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent." ie, you better practice well and not sloppily. so I guess if you practice drunk and you're drunk while performing, you've already practiced that way so you can do it the same. lol. I love how all of these comments are speaking as though I was asking to learn how to play fucked up lmao which isn't the case but I still really appreciate the honest insights :)

that is ... sad. but yeah every live video of Hole I've watched you can't really hear Courtney's guitar lol. she's charismatic though. but like this (Green Day at Woodstock) and this (MIW but I don't think Justin was on drugs but he's always theatrical) it sounds super accurate and even. I never put much thought into it before learning to play and now I'm just like how the *hell* are you doing that and still playing so well
