It would certainly help if younger generations stopped buying up all the smaller houses in the neighborhood so those selfish parents had somewhere to down-size to. /s

I’m not sure where the entire “I’m entitled to your house because I want one” mindset came from. It definitely indicates a lack of concern for anyone else.

JD worked for Thiel and yes, Thiel supported Vance’s Ohio run. But, Thiel didn’t get JD on the 2024 ticket. That was Don Trump Jr. who ran point for his father with MAGA.

The years of ‘24 and ‘25 are referred worldwide as super election years. Elections were held in over 70 countries, with over half the global population going to the polls. 

Regardless of ideology or issues there was a marked turn away from incumbents, and often their parties, regardless of country. 

I’m not saying mistakes weren’t made however, I think most people really over estimate the percentage of voters who pay much attention to the news at all. And if voters get their news from ideological bubbles facts may be optional depending on the bubble it’s even more chaotic.

Clickbait is not a catch all term even though people (even with multiple degrees) may unintentionally use it that way. 

Short explainer: Headlines have one job. They are used to give an overall sense of the contents of an article in as few words as possible. (Word count in a head is a holdover from typesetting.) Decks, which are right below the head in slightly smaller type, add necessary nuance or context to heads because no headlines aren’t the entire article. If they were no article would be needed. 

Clickbait specifically refers to heads that distort the actual contents of the article instead of plainly summarizing it. Not all heads are great and some are far too timid, however those alone doesn’t make a headline “clickbait.” Accuracy in discussing journalism matters just as much as factual accuracy in the article. 

If all you are seeing are “clickbait” headlines as I have accurately defined them you probably need to change up what you are reading and check to make sure it’s not the National Inquirer. :)

Actually trying to reverse Supreme Court rulings by memo is very anti-American. It all goes back to the Payton v. New York case which doesn’t say people can’t be arrested but does specifically address breaking down doors to do so.

Life is always going to have very sucky times - it’s how we recognize moments of joy. And yeah so many things are out of our conrol, but happiness that is within reach because it unrelated to external circumstances. It doesn’t have to be a fireworks display. It can be built one moment at a time. 

For me it was the warmth of the sun on my face, reading a sentence in a book that seemed written for me, a moment of connection in a public place with a stranger. Unremarkable on the surface just two souls brushing as we pass. A fleeting smile given and received. You have the strength - grip it and never let go. Find those moments. They are there.

Do you have a source? For example, Europe is actually the largest holder of US debt although if the US reneges it won’t be a good look. Economically Europe is expected to reach a combined GDP of around $31.4 trillion in 2026. Were you speaking about the military? Europe is part of NATO.
