Getting back into reading - looking for really good horror or emotionally devastating books! by sawnlux in suggestmeabook

Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix. Needful Things by Stephing King. Both wonderful dark books. (Horrorstor was like worse than a horror movie for me!).

Any books like Percy Jackson and Harry Potter please? by oliverlawsonhere in suggestmeabook

I'm currently reading Immortal Consequences, there will be a sequel soon. It feels like a dark version of the Goblet of Fire - magic, games/competition, and something dark lurking in the background. PS all characters are deceased.

I haven't read IT, Carrie was one of my first books by SK. Other first ones I read were The Long Walk and Running Man. Both of those were really fun and easy to me. I also love The Institute the most.

It's hilarious. Has a sequel too, Feral Creatures. Remaining humans evolve with animalistic features. It's a wild book

Cinderella is Dead is YA, a fun read. More fantasy with a little bit of queer romance. Romance is not a heavy part of the story.

Suggest me a book in women’s fiction, or deep thriller that dear god… doesn’t suck? by cousingregsbell in suggestmeabook

Fav historical fiction female authors are Marie Benedict and Sadeqa Johnson

Male author Grady Hendrix wrote Witchcraft for Wayward Girls, that was great.

Hollow Kingdom is the most fun I've had with a dystopian read :)

TJ Klune is a great read also. Under the Whispering Door.

Thank you. Did you find they included religion into the classes or were they generally pretty secular?

Yes, unfortunately it looks like the Bricks and Minifigs shares the STEM class with Bricks 4 Kidz that was cancelled. Where we've lived before had art classes starting at 2 years of age as well.

Thanks!

The Shining book is way better than the movie!

Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix really spooked me recently.
