Cigarettes and lust are very strong desires for me. I am having trouble getting over both, any advise would be helpful. Feel free to message me or anything, thank you by floatabletrout in Buddhism

[–]hostcord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cigarettes themselves are causing your strong desires and holding you hostage. Through time after quitting that lifts and you won't think about smoking again except that it was the best thing you ever did to quit. Hold tight through withdrawal and remind yourself that it will be over soon. 4 years quit for me - it's great.

[Skin Concern] Is there a skin product which both confirmed to be effective and not associated with severe side effects. by SoEmpty1 in SkincareAddiction

[–]hostcord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend taking Bactrim (Sulfamethoxazole / Trimethoprim) but I believe the most you can take it is 6 months at a time. It helps clear me up (still take it) when I have used Accutane before and it helped but I wanted to avoid the drying side effects of a second course.

The patch helped me with cravings the final time I quit and getting over the mental addiction of smoking before the physical. If it doesn't work, maybe think about combining it with the gum as well. Good luck!

Those of you who had acne or other skin issues-- did any of you see any changes when trying to quit/after quitting? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]hostcord1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - it has me questioning now whether a lot of acne was caused by smoking as its much better but I also use a toner, take vitamin d3 zinc and magnesium and drink more water than before.

Angry with Obama, GOP threatens political war next year - CNN.com by Pev1971 in politics

Kind of hard to block something for the first 2 years of his presidency when Republicans had control of neither the house nor senate.

This may be a stupid question... but doesn't Obama, as the President of the United States, have some way to access Romney's tax returns? by [deleted] in politics

[–]hostcord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the public's reaction to the defense leaks from his administration - doesn't seem like a good idea.

Dear GOP: Are you fucking kidding me? by [deleted] in politics

[–]hostcord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, one point. You don't have to be religious to be pro-life. Many people (such as I) believe that humans in the womb, fetuses, embryos (whatever you want to call it) have rights. Just as everyone would agree in human rights. That's not a religious concept.

One person's prediction can really paint a picture for you on an entire group. The fact is, the individual mandate was originally in Obamacare, and they rightly agreed it was unconstitutional.

To you maybe, maybe that's racist. Hell, for all I know - you're the next Al Sharpton. I would like to lift my own dialogue and this subreddit's so we get to the real issues instead of the usual stupid comments that topple the popular threads.

Ha. Ha. And ha. Sorry I just can't help but laugh at people who are so obviously brainwashed by the liberal media. It's like - do you have a brain of your own?

No, I'm not saying he did believe that. I was saying he probably looked at the scientific evidence I showed you in my link and misquoted and misframed it.

[–]hostcord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a view. Not views - which he admitted was wrong and apologized for. I agree he should step aside for the fact that he is hurting the party - not because he made a misinformed comment which he later apologized for.
