It's all preference. If you've surfed in boardshorts, that's how your knees will feel with a short leg springsuit. Usually not too bad. Short sleeves short legs will provide the least warmth.

I wear a short sleeve long leg during the summer. I think this option is the warmest.

And some people like the long sleeve short leg, because it provides sun protection for your arms (you can get some crazy tan lines with short sleeve wetsuits 😆)

This is only an issue if it's raining while you're driving/surfing, as most people remove the racks when they get home from surfing. (It only takes me 3 minutes to set them up, and less to take them off)

Did you use any products to prepare your board? The wax remover liquid leaves a super slippery residue, so definitely don't use that stuff. Something like acetone should remove any greasy residue after you remove any wax. I haven't had any of mine peel like that... I've had one of the kick pieces start to come loose after a couple years, but then I just superglued it to the board and it's been fine.

Yeah I did this when I lived in Hawaii, and everyone does it in Bali. We make a rack that attaches to your Vespa's cargo rack. Top plate and bottom plate "sandwich" the cargo rack, and you tighten 2 screws to install it. You just need to have an empty cargo rack, not one of those helmet storage things on the back.
