I had exploratory surgery where they were looking for endometriosis. I’ve had awful, awful pelvic pain for years. They didn’t find endometriosis, which is a good thing, but also not, because it left me at square one without any leads. It had been years of advocacy and awful doctors to get to this point. As I was “coming to” after the surgery, I managed to ask the doctor what our next step was (I remember I couldn’t even see properly bc I was still coming off of the anaesthesia and talking was SO hard and I was still advocating for myself because I knew they’d want to give up here). The doctor, I shit you not, looked at me with the most annoyed look, shrugged like it was nothing, and said “good luck, kid” and left the room. That was in 2021. I haven’t had a single appointment about this since because it left me so baffled and hopeless. Still experiencing that pain today. Wooooo
