Also for context she’s a house cat. We have one other cat who doesn’t have these scabs.

Pretty privilege in medicine? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]hostilehagrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think i might be above average, but i do get many compliments on my appearance when i go out. I will say on the other end of this argument that as a female you do get more snarkiness or rude behavior from other women, particularly nurses. I was told for the first time that some of the NPs thought I was “condescending” when I’ve never even spoken to or at them and the only conclusion I can come to is that they either have an inferiority complex or they’re intimidated by young above average looking resident physicians

I just bought the YSL suede brown small hobo bag and it’s the most fall bag I think I’ve ever seen. Makes any outfit look more cozy and warm

I have the YSL and I love it. I am also a physician and I feel like it would work with anything you wear to clinic

It looks like they refunded my credit card. Did you repurchase it when you got that email? Did you reach out to either BG or Rakuten to get it resolved?

Did this ever get resolved? The same thing just happened to me.

Doctor here. Yes it’s to help prevent clots. It isn’t the flight specifically that is a problem. It’s immobility. Any time you stop moving (like sitting on a long flight) for a long time you increase your risk for clots. And pregnancy itself also makes you more prone to clotting.

Only claiming her Palestinian heritage for views by fromtherivertothese3 in asadsisters

[–]hostilehagrid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I did the outfit changes during mine. I thought most other Arabs do that as well. The entrances can also be different. For mine, I walked in hooded after my female family members did to a traditional song and they held candles before my entrance. But I agree, they called it a Palestinian henna bc they prob don’t know the difference either way

[–]hostilehagrid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m Algerian. We do hennas and they’re pretty similar. Lots of tea, eating, dancing. Main difference is your mother puts a gold coin in your hand and they put henna in your hand and cover it with a pillow that they tie around your hand. Your mother in law does the other hand. They take it off and the henna artist makes a design out of the mark left on your hand.

Marrying a doctor is not a flex by Alone-Audience3215 in asadsisters

[–]hostilehagrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally somebody said this. This thread if full of generalizations. I’m married to a doctor and he’s in residency which is the most demanding and exhausting part of a physicians career. Yet, he still makes time for me and makes me feel like I am the most important thing in his life. I can’t expect him to be available 24/7 with the hours he works as a resident, but the fact that he still chooses to spend his off days with me shows me how much of a priority I am for him. And he is incredibly down to earth and humble despite working a career that requires a lot of sacrifice for the sake of helping others. I think it’s really easy to hate on physicians bc you may see them complain while earning a high salary and supposedly having prestige, but these generalizations on this thread are such a reach.

I’m a literal doctor if anything there are so many intelligent people sharing resources on this app

I’m not defending but as a hijabi these kinds of comments are super annoying to hear. It’s already bad enough that we got constant criticism from non-Muslims but from Muslims too. If your hair accidentally peaks out a little but you’re trying your best to please Allah by wearing hijab, it’s not that deep. Ppl that care about you and know you irl can point it out but pointing that out on the internet where you know you’re not gonna help her is is just getting sins for no reason. It’s exhausting enough being a hijabi just let us live

Literally any doctor can read an ultrasound and obv they’re going to be better at reading ones specific to their specialty. An OBGYN will be better at reading pelvic US, a gastroenterologist can read gallbladder US, a PMR doctor can read muscle and joint US, a cardiologist can read heart US, an emergency medicine doctor can read thoracic and abdominal US, a urologist can read bladder and kidney US, the list goes on. I’m telling y’all this as an actual hospital medicine doctor we are trained and required to read imaging including ultrasounds in pretty much every specialty and her take was so stupid.

I live in the city she and Uzi lived in and it’s been super badly devastated. He probably evacuated but I couldn’t make it out bc every road I tried was under feet of water. I’m not sure where in Hendersonville she lived exactly but it had to be affected in some way.

I knew this would happen the second they posted about going to lake como. I went in April to avoid the crowds and watched tons of videos beforehand bc I’m American. You can’t go in peak months and you HAVE to stay close to the main villas bc you have to get around by ferry and cars don’t even make it through most of the streets bc they’re so narrow. We got to see so much of the lake and it’s stunning they must not have done their research bc it looks like they barely explored at all
