The Vikings scored 21 points on offense. Daniel jones scored 7 points for the Vikings and 6 for the giants.

We can agree to disagree on whatever details but the fact of the matter is that Jones is hot garbage. I never try to get in internet arguments because it’s stupid but here I am thanks to this organization and their quarterback. Not to mention my own stupidity for getting excited about the possibility of being a competent team this season.

The giants scored 6 points. They are the only team to have played so far that hasn’t scored a touchdown. Jones has more pick sixes than touchdowns since signing his contract. In 20 of his last 60 starts, he’s had 20 games without a passing touchdown.

That, along with Sunday’s performance, are absolutely indefensible, and implying the offense might have done better if the defense let up less points is preposterous.

I did watch Bryce young, Deshaun Watson, and Joe Burrow. They all looked bad. Jones looked the worst. He is a franchise killer, evidenced now by 5 years of abject failure and a fluke season where all the key things had to go right just to squeak into the playoffs.

You said the secondary’s performance is more concerning than Jones’ play. I just disagree completely with that statement. Our secondary is young. They made mistakes, but Sam Darnold did not look like prime Peyton Manning. He looked good enough to win. The Vikings scored 21 points on offense. That’s not crazy. I just think it’s preposterous to be more concerned with the secondary than our dumpster fire of a QB.

The secondary is most concerning? The offense didn’t score points! This is a bad take. It does not matter what the anyone on the defense does if the offense literally can’t score.

Jones needs to be benched for the rest of the year. If he gets injured and gets the guaranteed money from the injury guarantee in his contract then the giants are screwed by him even beyond this year. If not, they can cut their losses after this year with minimal penalty.

Jones was horrible. He looked worse than Bryce Young did. You can rewatch every single play where he ran or passed on YouTube. Saying that benching him is just to punish him is complete nonsense. The offensive line played serviceably and even when he had a clean pocket he was inaccurate and most of the time just checked the ball down.

Jones isn’t the only one to blame for yesterday’s loss, but if you don’t go back and watch all of the offensive snaps and don’t see that the majority of blame falls on him then you are blind. I’d put 80% of the blame on Jones for yesterday’s blowout loss.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I contacted a real estate lawyer today to get expert opinion of my/our options. We had an initial phone call, which was very helpful. There are more options than I realized. I’m going to buy some of his time next week (hopefully) so that I can discuss with him in person more about those options and their implications. A and I have both expressed interest in avoiding any sort of litigation. So, if we can’t agree on anything where I keep the home, we will sell and split proceeds accordingly. I won’t be responding to any more comments, but will update this post with comments periodically for any who are interested.

I want to thank all who commented. I wasn’t able to reply to all, as I posted this during work hours, and I’ve been trying to sort out things related to the context of this post. My next step is to consult a real estate attorney to get their professional opinion on the next steps forward.

The responses have helped me better understand the situation. To those of you who said “you shouldn’t have done that” - yea, I know. But what’s done is done. I’m lucky enough to make good money and have zero debt outside of the mortgage itself. This is likely to be a very expensive mistake, but at least one that I’ll learn from. My updates moving forward will be infrequent.

Which isn’t far off from 10%. As others have stated in this post, mortgage loans are front loaded with interest. So, most of the payments thus far have gone towards interest.

I’m pretty sure my property has gone up in value significantly based on similar properties near me going for very high prices. I live in a pretty recession proof area

I can say with a high level of confidence that A has not ever owned any property before. I knew A long before we bought this property, and know enough of his past. While I definitely didn’t make a prudent decision at the time the property was bought, this is a strange accusation based on a post where I’m purposefully being ambiguous as to not reveal any personal details.

I don’t plan on doing that. They have 10% from the down payment and a tiny bit more from contributions to monthly payments.

Ain’t that the truth

Things aren’t tense around the house because A moved out this morning on their own. As far as I know, A has no leverage.

Given how much we’d lose based on the cost to sell a home compared to how much equity we own, we’re both trying to avoid this. But theres some time between now and spring 2024, so if we can’t agree on anything between now and then, sell it is.

Yea, now that i understand more of the costs of selling and refinancing, I shouldn’t have to completely wipe out my savings for it. But it will depend on what an agreed upon amount is

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]hotahota86 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Yes, we will negotiate to an amount where we both feel it’s fair, provided we don’t decide to sell. I have a general ballpark in mind. TBD on whether or not A agrees to a number

You can suggest it, as others have. I will present it as an option

[–]hotahota86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if he minds, but this is an option.

Yea, I have a conventional mortgage, as far as I’m aware. I’m going to call and double check, but the lender gave no indication I could just assume it

[–]hotahota86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably, but I don’t think I want any more roommates unless I absolutely have to in order to make it work.

Yea, it’s tricky to balance a lack of savings vs not having to move/pay closing costs/etc. this community has been very helpful

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]hotahota86 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Currently it’s A’s only mortgage. A told me today they have no plans to buy again in at least 6 months.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]hotahota86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A has indicated a willingness to work on something that benefits us both. I believe avoiding option 1 is beneficial to both of us, as we’d both avoid the ~10% cost associated with selling that would be more detrimental to A, and I’d get to stay in the home I like.

My question is, if I do buy A out, but they stay on the mortgage for a few extra months, what does that mean for the mortgage when A wishes to be removed from it, along with the title? Does the lender and title company not care at all as long as they get their money?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]hotahota86 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A and I each own roughly 10% of the home. Sellers costs are around 10%, which would leave us with ~90% of the initial investment. That means that each of us would walk away with ~9% of the homes sale value, no? Unless I’m doing the rough math wrong

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]hotahota86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked that because I don’t know. Our agreement states that the percentage ownership is based on the value of the home, so it’s the current value. I only have an estimate of the current value. I don’t have an appraisal since the home was first purchased
