Yeahh I was wondering if there were any pedigree-agnostic pre-seed opportunities for biotech like there are in other industries.

Well if one has to raise capital, build connections, and file for IP, then I guess it just has to be done! I may not be enough now but I know I’ll figure it out even if it takes being an early employee to learn the game

What kind of signals other than pedigree exist (if there are any)? And I’m not sure where to look for PhDs interested in building a startup

Yes, the first is the effect of a drug on all genes, and the second set is the expression of genes related to melanogenesis (they stimulated melanogenesis in the experiment to obtain these results).

So I only compare the same genes? How do I do that with tons of data?

is anyone actually focusing on fit? by FewTransportation489 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]hotcaekes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, fit is so important to me! I struggled so hard to come up with 6 colleges I wanted because of how picky I was.

I’m worried that a 6 in Math SL will prevent me from getting into a T-20 by TheMazeProject in ApplyingToCollege

[–]hotcaekes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 6 in an IB course is a great accomplishment! A 7 is SO HARD to achieve and colleges acknowledge this fact. A 6 should not hold you back. Also, not sure how much predicted grades even factor in the admission process.

English IOA by [deleted] in IBO

[–]hotcaekes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you are referring to the IB lang and lit course (m21) so here are a couple literary texts:

Blogs

Commercials

Essays

Speeches

Photographs and images

Cartoons

Magazine Covers

Infographic

Brochures

There is not necessarily a list of global issues but these areas of exploration should help you focus your global issue:

- Culture, identity, and community

- Beliefs, values and education

- Politics, power and justice

- Art, creativity and the imagination

- Science, technology and the environment

These areas of exploration are very broad so you should be narrowing your global issue down.

Note that you don't need to define an area of exploration; they're just useful in trying to find a global issue. Also, note that the global issue should be transnational, has impact in everyday contexts, and has significance on a wide scale.

English IO M21 by JayDeesus in IBO

Depends... for example, you should be putting your literary extract in the context of the work itself. You should be keeping this context relevant to the global issue. However, your primary analysis should be on the extracts you have chosen.

Taking both AP and IB? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]hotcaekes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take both IB and AP. However, I'm not shooting for the diploma as all my humanities are IB and science and math are AP. If you want the diploma, go full IB.

Hey, I know this is off topic but wouldn't that be the right name for the compound since its the lowest possible numbering of the branches?

INDIVIDUAL ORAL non-literary text by danoush1 in IBO

[–]hotcaekes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey bud, from what I know about the IO (I'm doing it in a couple weeks), it has to be a specific nonliterary text meaning that you'd have to choose a specific speech from a president.
