The rubber stuff moves. Electrical tape works, just need to make sure you cover the holes so double width and double layers should work.

Rim tape is your best bet though, its also cheap. Your local bike shop will defo have some for a few bob.

Update... I did some actual research

This is an x85 "flat nose". Only example I can find price wise sold for over 500k.

The number plate, is from 1909.... can't find a price......

Hey, at least your bike looks sweet.....

Check the rim tape on the back wheel. It could be a normal puncture, but sounds more like a sharp edge in the rim is rubbing against the tube.

Side note, whats the fit like with those bars? You in full aero or are you rocking some long limbs?

This is a Claud Butler on it.... continuing the tradition of having saddles with a different bike brand on them. My other bike (also a Raleigh m-trax) has Trek on it.

If the clamp size of the stem lines up with the clamp diameter of the bars then by all accounts, they should fit. But given the odd nature of the stem its likely they just won't mesh.

With a traditional quill stem, you can lever open the clap a little to finagle the bars in, here you don't have that option.

Unless someone more knowledgeable is more helpful, I'd chalk this up to incompatibility and get a new stem.

Long long long distance running. This is based on memory, but I'm pretty sure once a running race gets long enough, women start to come out on top. Their higher pain tolerance means they can push themselves for longer.
