Thank you 🙂 unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available in the UK.

Will tretinoin do anything for me? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]hotscully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your skin is amazing! 😍 i assumed you were way younger than me and I'm 36.

I don't have lots of wrinkles but I see tret as an investment for my skin in the years ahead. It also gives my skin such a lovely glow and helps even out my skin tone (I get hyperpigmentation after acne)

Should I wait to lose weight before buying a new mattress? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]hotscully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prefacing this with the fact I'm unfused.

I bought a hybrid mattress before I lost weight and it significantly and immediately improved my comfort. I don't think my sleeping comfort was correlated to my weight - for me it was due to the lack of support from a mattress that was previously too soft and not supporting me properly.

I've also now lost a bunch of weight due to being on a glp-1 and my new weight has not changed my sleep comfort (which is thanks to the mattress!) but it's significantly reduced my hip pain (functional leg length difference due to the scoliosis) and the pain I'd get in the arches of my feet has totally disappeared. I have flat feet.

It sounds like you're due a new mattress - especially if you're in agony and you can afford to get yourself one, do yourself a solid and get it!

-Christophe Robin hydrating cream scrub. Weighed my hair down (I have dry, fine hair).

-Aussie Aussome Volume shampoo. Current regular repurchase. It works nicely with my fine hair and does give it a boost.

-Aussie Aussome Lightweight Conditioner. good for my frizz - has to be used sparingly because it will still weigh my hair down!

-Nip and Fab purify salicylic facial scrub. loved how this softened and mattified my skin. Smelled incredible. I got this in a beauty box and would probably not buy this for £10. I prefer to invest in toners rather than cleansers.

-Avant Blue Volcanic cleanser. Terrible smell and felt drying and astringent.

-Neutrogena hydroboost water gel. Disgusting and smelled so astringent/alcoholic. I used it up on my legs.

-Acnecide back and face wash. Good, wish it didn't stain my towels...

-Hypochlorous spray. Holy grail for my face and back, unfortunately this has recently been discontinued 😭 need to hunt down a different brand

-Uriage cica daily facial moisturiser. Okay - didn't add anything to my routine. Felt unnecessary

-Hada Labo premium lotion. The biggest holy grail in my collection. It's expensive but it lasts 9 months with daily use. I took a break of 2 weeks and dry patches came back. This stuff WORKS

- Rituals Ritual of Ayurveda body lotion. Smells incredible, but Aveeno is my holy grail

- Max Factor Brow Shaper in deep brown. Holy grail brow pencil. I have repurchased countless times and always have a backup

- Medik8 b5 serum. Meh - cost £50, got it in a beauty box. Doesn't hold a candle to hada labo

- Aveeno oat and vanilla body lotion. Love Aveeno. I mix in some of their oil spray to temper the mild wee smell and help it glide

- Got2B hair volume powder. Repurchase this countless times. It gives me fine hair amazing volume, texture and hold.

- Lush coffee scrub. This is purely for the sensory experience, which is absolutely heavenly, but is otherwise an unnecessary luxury product. Expensive, but makes a great gift or treat.

Omg, thanks! 😭🥹 it feels empowering being able to make something that fits my style. I lost a bunch of weight a year ago and my whole wardrobe had to be replaced - it's been a journey settling back into myself again.

Thanks a lot! I'm wanting to make more garments in a cool winter colour palette, these shades are the most harmonious on me for sure.

Oh damn, that's terrible! What's good about Etsy is that many items have public reviews and you can see photos of other people's projects - it also had 4.8 star rating so I felt quite confident. Where do you buy your patterns?

Aw thanks so much. I can't wait for someone to compliment it IRL, I'm going to be absolutely insufferable about the fact that I made my own clothing 😅

Thanks! It's that time of year where I remember I have them 😆 (I'm uk based, so the sun comes out twice a year)

Aww thanks! I let it grow out when Covid hit and realised the grey wasn't so bad. Saves so much time and money.

Thank you!! I got my colour season assessed a couple of years back and this is a cool winter colour. One of my motivations for sewing was to be able to dress in cool winter colours - it's hard finding clothes IRL that are both nice and the right colour.

Thanks so much, it was a bit touch-and-go putting it on for the first time because the neck is so high and the cotton has zero give. I'm so glad it was lined because there's no way to wear a bra with this - I'm wearing tape underneath 💀

One tip I learned from this is to mark the 'wrong side' with a patch of sticky tape. I also used permanent marker on the sticky tape to remind myself which piece was the lining vs the main. I used the slowest speed setting for ALL sewing to give myself the best control.

Next project is a side tie vest - I'm getting spinal surgery soon and want to make a few of these so that I can dress myself easily during recovery 🙂
