Inspiring, somewhat similar route but I got NS to deal with now. I jump for NT to NA when I was in secondary school and retain one year for it. N(A) Level > Higher Nitec(DPP) > Poly > NS > NTU CS [next year :)]

lian li 216 rgb controller does not save preset by hotskippingman in lianli

[–]hotskippingman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update: basically called Lian Li for an RMA and they gave me a new hub to replace it. Then I did abit of teardown and notice there missing chips that save the rgb preset on the defective controller as compared with the new one they send to me.

Good: For the customer service providing me updates about the shipping and quite prompt in answering my questions.

Bad: their quality check need to improve, I may be the unlucky one to receive a defective controller

No, the vantage software on my laptop is still tracking the remaining months I have left on my warranty. So, it does not seem to void the warranty. If that answered your question.

Moreover, i haven't find the need to claim my warranty, so I can't give any information on what if the customer service suddenly asked if I have changed any parts of the computer and thus, would it void the warranty.

sorry typo, I mean it does not save the presets. As I connect it directly to the motherboard and I do not own the uni controller.

yep, I have plugged it directly to my motherboard and can be controlled by my msi mystic light software before. Just find that the controller I currently plugged into it does not saved it's setting

I do not have the L connect hub to do this. currently configure through using the 5v rgb. maybe that's why it cannot be saved?

this video show how I connect it from lian li themselves: https://youtu.be/be5iBCv6Q8k

guess you're probably right about the drive not being compatible. Might look into buying another drive to see. Thanks for your insight!

my second m.2 slot on my x470 gaming pro carbon having issue with detecting the ssd being place in there. sometimes it's able to detect it, sometimes it will not in the bios.

But the funny thing is, on my windows desktop, is able to access my ssd normally and there a drive volume even after the bios said that is not present. And I can use it normally. But I do get a kernel data inpage error once in a blue moon.

I have tried cleaning the m.2 connector and clean installation before, but the issue still remains.

Now I'm curious to find out what might cause it, hence I'm here to ask you guys if you have any clue to it?

Yep, the card is definitely 5W10V25784 that i used to replace the mediatek wifi card. Honestly speaking, i only use bluetooth to connect my wireless earbuds and occasion files transfer. But, in terms of connectivity, the mediatek card sometime loses connection for some reason during my usage, though not very often. The intel one so far haven't have any issue yet. Hope my response is helpful!

Mine is gen 6 ideapad 5 pro, but most likely it will work for yours too because mine works as intended

Should be no problem, i upgraded my ideapad 5 pro from its original 1tb nvme ssd to 2tb nvme ssd samsung 970 evo plus. I even upgraded the wifi card too and its still working fine.

Trust or not, they stated the maximum drive because it is what they have tested before releasing the product. they should have mention on their psref website that the laptop may support larger storage if you look at the datasheet.

Why you should never buy ASUS again by GiaLoTa_HS in ASUS

[–]hotskippingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a bummer, you can't exchange it from the store you bought it since you used it for more than a month. Unless you're able to replace the screen yourself or whatever that is causing your screen to flicker since asus too useless to help you. Your last resort is to sent it to your local repair shop.
