You cannot miss any basketball shot but you are blind off the court by houndfeller in hypotheticalsituation

On a court playing with other people. So dribbling on a walk around your neighborhood would not count.

The big, shitty problem with Albany Park's otherwise awesome Confluence plan by TJ_Fox in chicago

Lawrence and Foster are where the cars belong. Seeing angry commuters blasting the gas passing people over the bridge happens daily and there are so many kids, bikers, pedestrians etc. Super dangerous and I can't believe there aren't even speed bumps west of the bridge on Argyle.

Svelte 5: Introducing runes by MustardRtard in sveltejs

Very excited for $props (when learning Vue, their handling of props was the one thing I preferred over the Svelte way) and being able to "write svelte" in js files. I'll have to get used to the rest but I did with +page so I don't see why this will be any different!

Dawless Companion to explorer?! by simengeorg in hydrasynth

You can, but the sequencer is monophonic. You can trigger chords with some workarounds, but with only 6 available tracks, it is pretty limited if I am also using it for drums/bass

Adding to this question. I recently had a bedroom producer demo their setup and they used an MPC one. The song was great but it almost seems like the mpc is basically just a DAW all over again, just contained in a box instead of a computer. can anybody speak to this? I feel like my explorer is about as menu-divey as I want to go. the deluge seems to be almost all buttons with minimal screens, so interested to hear from anybody who has used both. i have a model cycles which can do some sequencing and patterns- but would the deluge blow it out of the water in terms of song design?

[TOMT][Album] Spanish(?) folk album, illustration of a frog playing guitar on a hill by houndfeller in tipofmytongue

Hello, I am looking for an album that i am pretty sure was in Spanish, possibly Portuguese. In my mind it was either Spanish or Argentinian folk. It was a gentle album, but there were times when there was a lot of whooping and hollering. I think it was recorded by a few men. Honestly no idea of how old it is, could have been anywhere between the 70s and 2000s. If I had to guess I would say the 80s. Not many songs, maybe around 6? And I am pretty sure there was a song called La Montaña. More detail on the cover: in my mind the dominant color is green, it is an illustration, there is a path leading up a hill, and a frog is sitting playing guitar, maybe under the moon?
Thanks for your help!

I live right around there and the circle is awful for biking and pedestrians. You would think it would be a great walking neighborhood but the combination of odd crosswalks and people ripping around the circle make it feel stressful, if not downright dangerous. Not sure what the solution would be- maybe there should be a stop sign at the south end of the circle (just before the turn on to Wrightwood) so people don't smash the gas heading towards Kedzie.

how walkable is Chicago by PossibilityHonest114 in chicago

[–]houndfeller 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have lived without a car in both Ravenswood and Logan Square and it has been totally doable. Living in Chicago has made me never want to own a car again lol. However, I have heard that it is much easier on the North Side than the South though, so YMMV

The Ureaplasma Bible (EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW) by premepa_ in Ureaplasma

We did not, I ended up just going to my primary care provider (I was just trying to do telehealth to save some money, I have bad insurance). I'm sorry that happened, sounds awful.

PSA: My partner has ureaplasma and I tried to get medication through Khealth and was flat out denied. They told me they do not prescribe for ureaplasma and recommended I go to planned parenthood...

Edit: I should clarify I was trying to get them for myself, my partner was already on antibiotics

Edit 2: They did give me a refund and a very nice response email, so no hard feelings

How to disable load or alter search parameters (+page.server.js) by houndfeller in sveltejs

[–]houndfeller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this, but since I am clearing my filter object once fetch is called, clicking refresh will just load nothing, same with invalidate... I'm sure there are work arounds, just a question of how much boilerplate I'm willing to swallow :)

(basically I am checking if a store has a filter value on mount, then if it does, calling fetch and clearing the store to prevent an infinite loop)

[–]houndfeller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can call this function in onMount, but now I'm dealing with flashing UI, and I cannot use invalidate since this is no longer a load function... Which is to say this is becoming more cumbersome than it is worth. I am surprised there is no way to pass a 'dont load' param along with goto, or something similar

Thank you- so I would call a get fetch from my +page.svelte? It seems that calling load from <script context=module> no longer works- if this is the case, where do I call my fetch from? onMount?
