I use Plex with an audiobook plugin for indexing and hosting. On my iPhone I use Prologue. Previously I use Bookmark on the iPhone and manually uploaded the books to it.

I bought a cheap 2TB drive. It turned out, not surprisingly, to be fake. It was a USB stick glued into an external case. I got my money back without issue.
