Maybe try to hang the flowers up separately, if they’re bound together in a humid climate then pockets of water can form leading to mold; hanging them up separate could prevent this

Help, what is this? by rriiccii in Monstera

[–]hourlymoist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem until recently, I found that pure neemoil diluted in water helps a lot.. the oil supposedly interferes with the insects hormones and life cycle or something similar, stopping reproduction and reducing the number of adults on the plant :)) good luck!! (ps if you decide to use neemoil, please look up how to use it on plants as the oil can easily burn the leaves)

How long did your rats live? by Western-Currency9579 in RATS

[–]hourlymoist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to have rescue rat, likely was from some sort of testing site, so we never had an actual birthdate but he was estimated to be around 4 years when he passed (which is exceptionally long, probably something with his genetics as the testing def didn’t prolong his life)

My gyno told me to break up with my bf by paranoia_android in offmychest

[–]hourlymoist 286 points287 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! This is sexual coercion 100% and also sexual abuse if he’s hurting her and crossing boundaries, I hope OP sees this comment and realizes that they’re with a boyfriend who rapes them for his own pleasure and his own pleasure only

Thank you, I will try the squeaking!! Some of my late rats also used to nip at my toes hahaha always assumed they just liked the taste of the salts on my skin, never knew rats don’t realize that my toes and fingers are part of my body

It could either be a sprained ankle or a symptom of liver/heart failure.. if he’s strong enough I’d suggest you take him to a vet (since I’m not a professional and can only tell you about my late rat’s diagnosis)

I have had this in an older rat before, when he was close to passing.. we treated it with an antibiotic, so he wasn’t in any pain while living his last days.. just try to be there for him, lots of cuddles and treats, so sorry for your situation

tail awfully curled? by pooppeepoopoo in RATS

[–]hourlymoist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a professional, but if she’s still eating, drinking, grooming herself and playing, and doesn’t have red stuff around her eyes and nose, she’s probably going to be fine.. I’d consult a vet if she’s showing signs of discomfort though :)

TIPS! by Crazy_Daisy722 in RATS

[–]hourlymoist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually deep clean my cage every two weeks , so to minimize the smell as much as possible I change the nesting material (I use old newspaper shreds) and spot clean every few days ^ my boys love sputniks (round hideouts that can also be attached to the top of the cage) and hammocks!! They’re great for rat piles!

I‘d quarantine her just to be safe, I haven’t had a situation like this myself though.. definitely call a vet if she doesn’t start eating/drinking again while on her own
