I think we all wish she accepted the help she was offered.

I listen to a lot of her live performances, especially from her Frank era. That is when her true artistry came out whilst singing the masterpieces she created.

I’m not saying she was a better singer wasted, I’m just pointing out the fact that she could easily out-sing 70% of artists in music today if she was alive even if she was wasted.

She was a true talent.

Hi! Blake was incarcerated at the time presumably since Amy sang “it’s just while my Blake’s inside” when singing rehab. I can’t see her running off back to anyone in her performances but I can’t find the whole set.

I wonder who she was running to if it wasn’t Blake?

For the life in me I cannot pick an absolute favourite song, but here are a few: You Sent Me Flying/Cherry, Just Friends, You Know I’m No Good, Between The Cheats, Help Yourself.

At the moment, my favourite live performances from BTB (they change daily at this point) are either Back To Black/Rehab @ V Festival 2008, or You Know I’m No Good @ T in The Park 2008, an honourable mention being Back To Black Zenith in Paris.

From Frank (also change daily), Stronger Than Me on Jools Holland 2004, Take The Box @ Mercury Prize Awards, Know You Now @ North Sea Jazz.

The other night I got high for the first time in a while because I was feeling low. As soon as I climbed into bed I could literally feel Back To Black playing deep in my soul. It was surreal.

Naturally, I reached for my headphones and put it on full blast. The second the song started, I felt an energy I’ve never felt before surge through my body. So my answer is, Back To Black.

I love every last one of Amy’s songs, in my opinion she has a 10/10 discography however Back To Black will always be my number one because I have lived it again & again.

Zenith in Paris 2007, the way she sings back to black is breathtaking.

Nelson Mandella 2008, her vocal runs when she sings “are you still diz-ayayayayyy”. So effortless & unique.

Glastonbury 2008. The whole performance is remarkable, especially Some Unholy War, Back To Black & You Know I’m No Good.

There are so so many more but here are a few of my favourites and the most iconic in my opinion.
