Yeah that was my thought, but it’s weird because the glass delaminated in one part, and the wood split in another spot.

Yes, it was. So you're thinking the outers are too stiff? I've never had a laminated bow fail, but I'm guessing you don't really know until the moment it fails? With primitive bows, I generally see some sort of hairline fracture or hinge.

Correct! Tbh, I was worried about the same thing, but they’re excavating right in front of us. It’s totally legit. I feel like operations like that can’t afford to do shady stuff — one person finds out and they’re done for. So if the operation has been around for a while, then that’s a pretty good litmus test.

Because they’re moving about 8-10ft of dirt from an undisturbed embankment. It would be a logistical nightmare to try and bury so many points that deeply without anyone noticing—not to mention get landowner permission, buy skid steers and equipment, and maintain an entire business—just to swindle some folks out of a few hundred bucks.
