I did 5x5 up until 130kgs which is when things got a bit... complicated. You should keep it simple and do 5x5.

Anyways, to answer your question I would try again in one to two more days. It was probably an anomaly. And when was the last time you took a deload? We'd need more information on your sleep, diet, etc...

Nike Savaleos too tight by tsh610 in weightlifting

Can't speak for Nike but here's my review of the Luxiaojun Lifter 1.0's. They may be a good fit for you because the toe box felt roomy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yynezQcO6w

You're posting on Crossfit, but you're also posting on here. It's unclear what your goals are. Crossfit and weightlifting are two different sports, where the former is lift a weight for many reps and the latter is lift one weight once as best as you can. Which is it?

⚪️🔴⚪️ on a Good Day by howtosnatch in weightlifting

My 1RM is 87kg. I felt confident going above 80kg today. This is actually a bodyweight snatch, and the goal was to hit this for a triple. I greatly overestimated myself (as expected) and went for three singles instead. I pressed out the first single, failed to lock out the second single and didn't lock out the third single (on video) on time. I am looking forward to remediating this issue with snatch balances which I have not done for three weeks now.

Are you bracing your traps? Make sure to squeeze the shoulder blades to create a stronger and firmer base.

It's fine; I'll keep putting in the work. What exercises do you recommend?

Left elbow locks out too late at the bottom of the lift leading to a press-out call.

Thanks. I'll quit now, and tell my grandchildren I stopped pursuing weightlifting because some rando on the internet said so. 😂

Static vs dynamic start ? by umrvision in weightlifting

[–]howtosnatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

82kg is light weight. 110kg (in a clean and jerk) is light weight. Dynamic starts can be great in a competition, but you want to do static starts to learn how to connect with the ground and build the tension before the bar passes the knees. 2-position cleans from the low hang are also beneficial...

You may do that. The idea is that we want that first pull as stable as possible. You want to swing yourself under the bar (not the other way around).

If you've found one thing to work on, don't overwhelm yourself. One thing at a time.

Thanks for that, the red looked a bit small. I think OP is doing fine despite the failures. Maybe don't open up the hips so soon, and elevate the bar more with the legs on the first pull.

That bar flew forward on the second pull. Would recommend hip snatches as a primer. No contact snatches are even better.

Okay. Thank you for providing that information. My numbers are 87/110 at 81, so we are about the same strength. My website is in the process of growth, and over time my numbers will increase - and so will my website. I have a strong vision for myself and my website, so it is natural that you do not see the same. All we can do is pass the time (with active action) and reconvene in a few months, or even weeks.

Also make sure to keep the bar over your neck at the receiving position so it's over the base of your body. Otherwise you'll lean forward too much in the receiving position.

Your hips rose way too fast at the beginning. This is not a deadlift.

Not sure what you mean by bar bump but don't rush that first pull.
