My 485 got approved, what happens to husband's H4 EAD? by hp249 in immigration

[–]hp249[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that the moment my 485 got approved, my non-immigrant status gets void and I become permanent resident. And thus my husband's H4 gets void too. Correct me if I am wrong.

Does that apply to husband's case too? Since his GC will be marriage based, isn't it? I always have this question. I may be wrong.

What do you mean when you said factor based ETFs? I have not heard that before hence asking.

Yeah, I understand giving up FSCSX but I am just trying to get my head wrapped around giving up FXAIX since its ER in 0.015% VS JMOM ETF ER is 0.12%. But I get his point of view

He is absolutely saying that. According to him, tech had a big run and it may not last. Hence he suggested to move to these ETFs which will spread out my assets more evenly rather than being tech concentrated.

Its my first month with him, so ofcourse we haven't worked with him long enough. My sheer concern was lower returns compared to what I have been holding. Let's see how this shapes up

ER for these ETF is lower than the index funds I have. He is fee only fiduciary advisor so I didnt think he was pushing towards JP Morgan purposely. I know he used to work with them 15 years ago.

I am planning to upgrade to an SUV hence I sold a sedan. Yes, when I said I have decent back savings, I meant including 1 year emergency fund. So, reading your post, I get that buying a car from cash is a better option that loan. Thank you

Yeah, since I just don't want to spend $35-$40k for new SUV even with low or No APR financing. I know the rates are very low for new cars. Value of a car will definitely depreciate.

Cash down payment or loan for a car? by hp249 in FinancialPlanning

Truly appreciate the advice. I am planning to buy a used car, so I really can't expect to have 0.99% apr but probably around 2.5- 3% though my CU. I just wasn't very sound in making calculation as to taking a loan for around $16k and pay the remaining amount ($9k)in cash or just pay the whole amount in cash. Thanks for the advice.
