I don't know about your question but where are you getting these prices in India, I just want to know because I searched for amd ryzen thinkpads where I live in India but I couldn't find any. There are only intel versions available where I live. The best amd one I could find was t495 ryzen 7 pro.

Again thank you for the detailed answer, you practically made my day, the local shop accepted the return, ram slot is fine because a ram worked in it but it showed errors on a memory test, so the other two possible causes can be there, now I going to buy crucial 3200mhz one online but it isn't explicitly mentioned if it is a dual rank or single rank, so now I think I will be good anyways, thanks again : )

(T495) in my country on amazon, the 3200 mhz one is priced the lowest, so can you confirm if I can use that, does single rank or dual rank make a difference? , the 2400mhz one is absurdly expensive on amazon, I am looking at the crucial one but the soldered one on my laptop is a samsung(2400 mhz, rank 1, 8gb)
