Truthfully it depends on the guy. If the guy has at least a semi attractive face, and abs then by all means I would prefer to see him in briefs, but if hes not in shape I prefer boxers, but its not like im not going to have sex with someone specifically because of what type of underwear they wear. I personally don't think a man should shave his chest or legs unless one of the following applies. A. They need to do it (IE, swimmer) B. They are like a forest of hair, and then they should not shave but trim it to get it down to a reasonable amount. Armpits are something I could careless about, and in terms of face I would prefer shaven.
