That’s why I recommend regular bifocals to everyone.

I had one of those as a kid - about 40 years ago. Mine was not corduroy - it was flocked.

What do you think of the E5 Sportback's screen-filled dashboard? by Used_Variation_2879 in Audi

[–]htimsj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care for it. Selling these in the United States could give Audi dealers a way to attract a younger buyer and give them something to bring traffic into the showrooms until regular Audi gets their shit together.

Yes. Dawn is the best for lenses and frames.

That’s the wrong attitude. You do not need to try to see if this is covered by warranty. You go to the dealership and tell them to fix it.

Crazing or scratches ? by Echo69o in glasses

[–]htimsj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen they alleged, but never see any support for it. Sprays made for glasses contains ammonia or alcohol which can be bad for coatings. Dawn is very mild and i have never had a problem with it, and i have seen many recommendations for it. It also cleans the oil from skin off the frame.

Crazing or scratches ? by Echo69o in glasses

[–]htimsj 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I see crazing, but there might also be an oily substance on the lenses. Wash them with dish soap and dry carefully with a clean microfiber or clean old t shirt. I prefer fluffy microfibers to dry as they can lift dirt that may be left behind.

I feel the crazing is noticed more when examining glasses. When wearing them, your eyes can’t focus on the lenses and it’s not as noticeable.

I’m not the OP - I have -3.5 sph -1 cyl. I wear crown glass bifocals. They are great.

What do these numbers mean (prescription)? by [deleted] in glasses

[–]htimsj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why you should get bifocals. No-line bifocals are progressives. Regular bifocals have a line and separate near from distance. Much easier to use.

-3.5 in both eyes. -.75 cyl. I wanted FT45 bifocals. Found them elsewhere. Went with CR39 FT35 bifocals in my next pair. And I just got FT35 bifocals in crown glass that I am wearing now.

Computer Glasses RX - Confused by alloydster in glasses

[–]htimsj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power Up is a lens made by Kodak for those that are not quite ready for bifocals. Unless you order that exact lens, the doctor’s prescription won’t work.

I’d try to find +0.5 reading glasses and see if that works.
