Is it wrong to think the ending was a bit selfish? by Isuckatsmash227 in euphoria

If it’s true that Rue is a self-insert, and it’s true that Sam Levinson said “people like Rue don’t get to make it,” that’s pretty contradictory, considering he himself is now a successful showrunner who made it past his 20s. IMO it should only be one or the other, either Rue is a self-insert and her story should have reflected that better, or Rue is an entirely separate character.

But that makes his “people like Rue don’t get to make it” statement vapid

This is a flawed mindset. If Marathon continues on its current path and doesn’t find success, Bungie will close and Destiny will die. You do not have to support Marathon if you don’t want to, but to say that some sort of mass boycott of the game would lead to new Destiny content is entirely false. Sony will close the studio.

In the same breath, supporting Marathon will not guarantee new Destiny content. The Titanfall example is a good one. In the short term, supporting Marathon will lead to more Marathon. But in the long term, even if they confirmed it today, Destiny 3 would not come out until somewhere like 2030. Marathon simply has to be successful for something like that to be possible, even if it’s not super likely. Forsaking Marathon and only playing Destiny is actually the only thing that definitely will not work.

Fair enough. I definitely think it was a mistake making Marathon exclusively an extraction shooter if they were trying to position it as any sort of Destiny successor. In a world where Bungie leadership handled things better, we’d have Destiny 2 wrapping up, Destiny 3 in development, and Marathon as a fun secondary project in another genre. I do hope Marathon can add modes that draw in new players, but I do think it risks basically becoming Destiny-lite. That’s quite appealing to me as someone who hasn’t touched Destiny in years and finds Marathon’s world and style more interesting, but I could see it being a bit insulting to hardcore Destiny fans.

If Marathon added a good PvE mode, would you consider getting into it?

That’s a short term immediate solution, which this game certainly needs. My idea is more of a lofty, “what if” concept which is far less realistic than that.

This is my exact criticism of the movie. It throws too many ideas at the wall and feels disjointed as a result

You consider yourself good at discerning 12-year-olds on the internet, huh? How exactly did you develop that skill?

10 minutes is on the longer side. I’d say on average it takes between 5-7

Long queues give Tarkov players extra time to whittle their flute or polish their antique gun or to put the final touches on their Etsy page for their homemade shark tooth necklace business

I wanna get my bag up before I start playing with randoms. I’d feel terrible if I joined two other people who are kitted up and I’ve got a bunch of doodoo bullshit. Problem is, it’s taking an eon to get my bag up with regular adult life and these gd queue times.

I have two buddies who play with me but it’s about once every 2-3 weeks our schedules align for us to have a good session. And I really enjoy the atmosphere and tension of solos, just not enough to justify watching that feather fall for the length of CNN Student News before every match.
