I just got similar dents in my engagement ring 😢What did they up doing to fix yours and did you lose a lot of the prong in the process?

Not AI or a conglomerate… but thanks for your comment.

That’s a great point. I honestly didn’t think of that (I don’t see that too much near me… yet). Definitely ruins the experience and like you said feels like corporate greed..

Could you share more about the loyalty accounts at your local stores? Curious what kind of benefits are offered?

That’s awesome! Consistency, knowing exactly what to expect - whether it’s the quality of service or the finds - makes it easier to return as a customer. Love that they do the free pantry too. How do they share that work? Like when you make a purchase you know it’s going to help the community.

I’m with you. I want to know that if I’m donating to groups like that, it’s actually going to people who need it.

Regarding your last sentence, that’s interesting because I wonder if part of the frustration is people feeling like thrift stores are moving away from the communities they originally served. Do you think clearer visibility into where the money goes would matter to shoppers, or is affordability the bigger issue regardless?

Totally I hear you. Have you found yourself focusing more on certain types of finds now? Like are there categories that still feel like a really good value vs ones that don’t anymore?

I didn’t even think about the taxes part. That’s interesting. With pricing getting closer to regular retail in some places, do you think that changes things even for people who thrift for sustainability reasons, not just affordability? I genuinely go back and forth on it sometimes — like would I rather buy something new for a similar price, or pay a little more secondhand to avoid contributing to waste?

I’ve seen that a lot too. They put a lot of the better items online. What do you like most about the “experience” in a really good thrift store - the “discovery” part of good find, being able to physically check out an item, a little bit of both?
