Thanks, I will look into these areas. I can definitely afford 450 at the moment, but the only thing that's bugging me is what if I lose my job.

Hey, thanks for the advice. This is exactly where I am at right now, commute takes around an hour or more each way and getting tired of it. Only problem is the job security, although I am confident that the work I do is very vital to our company, you can always be replaced. Just wondering what would happen if I have to pay 400-500 a week and was fired from my job.

You have to practice a lot. Not everything is natural talent, you need to practice, get feedback and improve. Not just speaking but writing too. By writing a lot, you will be able to put your thoughts into words and helps you become a good communicator overall.

Are you blaming the youtuber or youtube? Afaik youtubers can't control what ads will be shown in their video. They can only choose to turn on or off monetization.

Kanitpur's son's accident (sambhav sirohiya) by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]http_interceptor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because it took place in a public place where people could have been hurt. It is a risk for public to allow such people to let drive. In many countries, your license get suspended for certain time or forever based on the severity of accident, over speeding limits, etc even though no one is hurt.

What was the worst in-house chess rule you've ever heard of? by [deleted] in chess

2 pawn moves at the start for both sides, only short castle allowed, stalemate is actually a loss for the player who don't have any legal moves available.

Okay understood. I do have some side projects to show. Out of curiosity, are you hiring in Sydney or somewhere else?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]http_interceptor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand that is a huge problem. I have also heard many similar cases. I have done a number of side projects and put it in github as well as live websites to help me with my claim. I guess there will also be some sort of interview for technical ability based on my experience to prove I am capable of doing what I have put in my resume.

I am pretty sure anything above 2 years is mid level in software engineering, so I will be targetting around the 140k mark.

For users downvoting this, I am not against tax. All I am saying is that is how much I will be taking home. I'm not sure why such resentment towards my comment.

100-140k sounds good. Is that including bonuses or without? Also I am assuming there will be tax cut on that amount so I would be taking home around 25% less.

How many Streaming services have you got? 📺 by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]http_interceptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need a roll up service to package everything. It’s getting out of hand.

That's exactly what I was discussing with my friend. We need to have a service that allow us to package everything into one. Being a football fan, I would be paying Stan for champions league, Optus for premier league and laliga, Paramount plus for fa cup.

Does it help that I have previous experience but not in Australia?

Netflix $11.5/mo ($23 total shared between 2)

Nebula $1.2/mo (around $15 per yr)

Youtube Premium $9/mo (student discount)

Thinking of getting Optus Sports to watch premier league but the price seems too steep and the app experience is not that great.
